good experience, good waitress
Wolfgang Puck at LA Live...disappointment. Very dry burgers. Service was lousy.....
Citysearch Editorial Review. Wolfgang Puck's upscale fans may flock to Beverly Hills for Spago’s more refined digs, but you can party down at this L.A. Live joint and still savor his top-notch cuisine. The huge 8,000-square-foot space is contemporary yet organic, with striking wood block walls, pale blue banquettes, a long walnut bar and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in the lights of the entertainment complex. Forget the stuffy BH crowd --Lakers fans and Nokia theatergoers rule here. Executive Chef John Lechleidner turns out Puck favorites like burgers--prime sirloin with Vermont cheddar, garlic aioli and red onion marmalade--and pizza (the famed smoked salmon pizza with dill creme fraiche and caviar) as well as artichoke soup with pancetta, pappardelle with Sonoma rabbit ragu or a prime rib eye steak with green garlic.
A bit pricey, but a good experience overall. I went to Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill on Saturday night with three friends. From the beginning, we had a pretty good experience. Despite the long line, we were seated promptly because we made a reservation prior to our visit. Although not extremely friendly, our waitress was good about taking our drink and food orders in a timely manner. In terms of the taste of our food, it was what can be expected from Wolfgang Puck—an interesting array of flavor combinations. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi with fennel sausage Bolognese. The gnocchi was pillowy soft and the sauce was well-seasoned. One thing I would look out for are portion sizes. It really varies depending on the dish you get. Some of the pastas are larger than others, and the fish dishes are on the smaller size compared to other restaurants. Also, the price of the bill can add up if you go with multiple courses. Overall it was a good experience, especially because the night we went there, Wolfgang Puck himself was there!
