The full Prohibition experience, with a secret door to enter. Live music and dim lighting set the mood. Drinks here are superb! Be daring and go with Bartender's Choice. You won't be disappointed.

Tips for The Varnish

Fabulous atmosphere. After one of my friends raved about Varnish, I went with some of my coworkers to check it out: the atmosphere is amazing, but the drinks all seemed fairly generic to me (which was surprising considering the reviews I'd heard). I ordered a Fizzy something, which was basically just a high-priced mojito. I'd say the prices are worth it just for the ambiance and the cool factor of strutting through Cole's and entering the back speakeasy through the unmarked door, but the drinks themselves haven't been anything to write home about in my experience. Still, definitely worth a trip downtown.
