Bad experience but great manager and waitress. We had a pretty bad experience at La Grande Orange for brunch. It was a special occasion and it turned out to be quite a bad meal. It took over an hour for our food to be brought to the table and even then, some of it had to be sent back because it was cold or undercooked. One person in my party actually never ate because they just couldn't get it right in the kitchen. The kitchen was the problem though. Our waitress was extremely friendly and did everything in her power to help. The manager was wonderful as well. She offered to comp our meal and also brought us muffins while we were waiting. So all in all, they need to work on their kitchen situation and then I would go back because the food was yummy.
Best Fries!. I dont know what they season their fries with but, they are addictive, I only get the burger (which is awesome ) so I can get the fries! The white sangria is delicious too!
Citysearch Editorial Review. Just blocks from the beach in the Archstone apartment complex, this modern all-day dining spot embraces the California tao of organic, seasonal and fresh. You’ll find the usual Santa Monica suspects here, from early morning joggers and afternoon yoga folk to a casual neighborhood dinner crowd. The look is warmly postmodern with high ceilings, lacquer, wood, art and mirrors, and the shrouded sidewalk patio is a fun alfresco scene. California fare looks to both Latin flavors and a Japanese influence, with dishes including shrimp ceviche, tuna tartare, miso-glazed salmon roll, vegetarian tacos, a green chili burger, charred black cod in kaffir lime broth, and a fork tender turkey meatloaf. The full bar has everything from martinis and margaritas to a popular house-made white sangria (and red), and a global beer and wine list. The adjoining bakery/to-go counter is where to get goodies like oatmeal apple cookies and cream cheese coffee cake and breakfast on the run.
