The Scene – Although it's practically underneath a freeway overpass, this small pub is charming and exuberant inside. The rustic wooden walls are illuminated by Christmas lights, and a long bar boasts several imports on tap. Among the requisite pool table and Golden Tee is an astoundingly clean and refined dining area, with linen-covered tables and red vinyl booths. The crowd is cheerful, clean-cut and a refreshingly diverse mix of men and women, young and old, yuppie and scruffy. The soundtrack is more Bowie and Brit-pop than Skynyrd and Freedom Rock. – – The Draw –…
I suppose this sounds more like a question....

Where is the true Irish/ English/ Scotish place in this area? With European beers, true European foods and snack (well, not just 2-3 common things, or by the way, "would you like combo meal?????"), Irish music and European interior and at last- clearly English speaking personnel. I've been looking around for quite sometime. South Orange County where I live is totally terrible: all you can find is never ending depressing huge shopping malls built by national standards to make sure an average citizen is familiar with the names and is not troubled to read and think, places filled with low qiality chain food joints with so mysteriously same menus that it looks like they have a strict partnering agreement to avoid quality and anything unique. Or else- you are offered domestic beer, chinese and mexican food... in the Pub????? Hello, that's not what I am here for, so as others. Want ethnic foods? Go to the relevant places. This rediculous trend to serve everything for everyone's taste in he same place is a s stupid as it gets.
Service wise? Don't expect Soho House, London, level of service in the Pub!
Well, here is another clue: I figured if I see Harley-Davidson stockpile parked in front of the joint, this place must be a toss, I will go elsewhere....
- Pros: Irish, good beers
- Cons: Not Irish enough:is this just another BudLight/burger shack?
NOT THE GREATEST PLACE
by daviddunn
I was very excited to celebrate Saint Patrick days at this location because city search had so many great reviews. I REGRET IT!
When I first arrived at the front door I was instructed to enter through the back way. Probably because they were in violation of a fire hazard.
This place was extremely crowded and there food was ok but there service let me tell you, worst service ever!!! I ordered fish and chips and corned beef & cabbage. The food did not arrive until 1and a half hour later and when I asked about my food everyone minus one harry potter looking guy had an attitude. Very unprofessional people working there. I could have been better of going to the Olive Garden and would have had a much better meal with much better service. Maybe even less people. With paying $10 for entrance and $15 each plate and bad service, It was not worth it. This was my first and my last time going there, I was not impress.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
- Pros: Great Guinness
- Cons: In need of better attitudes and better service
Best All Around Pub in West LA
by makersontherocks
The Irish Times is by far the best all around pub in West LA. I've been living in the area for 4 years now and I've pretty much been everywhere. The 'Times' is a nice quiet spot tucked away from the madness of Los Angeles. Parking is a breeze, there's never any cover nor is it ever crowded, and the drinks are priced right.
The food is well basically bar food but good and cheap. If you want to have a night out with friends or just a quiet night and a couple of drinks this is the place to be. The golf game they have isn't all abused and sticky like the Golden Tees at most bars. The best part is there's no Karaoke night at this place. The pub around the corner has full volume Karaoke every night and after 10 seconds of walking in there you want to stab yourself in the eye with a pool cue. The 'Times' is where it's at.
- Pros: Cheap drinks, good food, great atmosphere, and good service
- Cons: Sometimes the bar surface is a little bit sticky
The Details on Irish Times
Parking:
Instead of parking under the freeway, look for metered spots on well-lit National or Motor, south of National.
When to Go:
Irish bands rouse the crowds on Thursdays through Saturdays from 9:30pm to 12:30am--and there's almost never a cover charge.
The Extras:
Minors are allowed to sit in the dining room of the pub.
