Citysearch Editorial Review.
It might only be nine miles away from La Cienega, but this casual dining spot is a long way from its fancy flagship location. As with the other two carvery locations in SoCal, they’ve done away with the tableside carving, the polished ambiance and even the gracious waiters. Instead, diners stand in line to order (there’s often a line out the door on game days at Staples Center) and take their numbers back to a table. The famous prime rib makes an appearance under the menu’s platter meals section, but the real stars of this eatery are the sandwiches--stuffed with prime rib, roast beef or turkey--which are unavailable at the original location. Most sandwiches are just $8.99, but don’t expect a heaping portion. Creamed corn, horseradish mashed potatoes and other signature sides are ordered separately.

Favorite Before Lakers Game.
This is my favorite place to eat before a Lakers game. I happen to think the prime rib sandwich is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. It's not completely the cheapest sandwich, but I think for the quality of the sandwich it's a fair value.
Just make sure to expect up to a 30 minute wait in line. Also, sometimes they run out of the better beer (i.e. Spatan).
