rude service, not mediocre service, great price, great drinks, amazing late night happy hour, fantastic burger, not so bad place
..... ok...i'll start by saying that the food is good, the drinks are goood...but they are so strict with the I.Ds. My boyfriends I.D had just expiered a month before we went to the yard house in L.A LIVE and they refused to give him drinks, they wont even accept a passport. They are also so rude that they kicked us out only because my boyfrind had taken a sip of my beer. After experiencing that, i will never go there AGAIN.
Citysearch Editorial Review. With 139 beers on tap, this L.A. Live outpost of the Yard House restaurant chain is an irresistible siren call for beer enthusiasts. Every seat in the house has a view of a flatscreen TV so guests can enjoy practically any game without the high-priced tickets. Dishes include American basics like burgers (including turkey and veggie versions), lots of salads, sandwiches and seafood. There's also a generous happy hour menu Monday to Thursday from 3pm-6pm with domestic pints priced at $3.50, craft/import beers for $4, half-priced appetizers and pizzas, and much more. Also handy is the gluten-sensitive menu, which lists all the regular menu items that can be specially prepared.
Get ready for nothing. Ok, I'll start out by saying that yes the Yardhouse has great drinks at a great price and an amazing late night happy hour. Their food is ok but they do have some legitimately good dishes. Which is why I've given this places so many chances. I REALLY want to like the yard house. Yet, the three or four times I've been here we've had horrible, rude, and vacant service. I'll give the first waitress some credit because they were slammed, but the other times we went it was dead and somehow the servers still dropped the ball. On our second visit they server forgot some of our drinks and food we ordered. Our drinks were taking 15 minutes or so, so when she dropped off the first round of drinks we tried to order a second round but she said we couldn't until our drinks were at least half gone. At the end of the meal we had a couple of problems with the items on the check (she had spilled some of our drinks and rerang them without getting them voided off) so we asked to see the manager. He was very short and could care less that we hadn't had a good experience. Word for word he said, "I don't know what to tell you". There was no apology and he just left it at that. The last time we went there we decided to have dinner at the bar and ran into a bartender having a bad day. He was rude, insulting, and very unhelpful. He made snide remarks and partially ignored us. I'm a pretty low maintenance guest. I order, I don't make any modifications and I never send anything back so to receive such horrible and rude service consistently has kind of been a shock. If you don't mind waiting an insanely long time for drinks and don't care about mediocre service then I guess this place isn't so bad.
Close your eyes and pick one!. Probably the cheapest place to get a drink at L.A. Live. Came here for a glass of wine and it was $7... and good! To be honest, I just came for the booze (really, what else do you need?) but while sitting at the bar I smelled a fantastic burger and french fries, which is calling me to come back. Seriously though... skip all of the "tre chic" restaurants and mosey on down to the Yard House for one of probably a million beers and just great, no-attitude fun.
Best Happy Hour!!!.
Great spot to watch a Laker game with friends or grab happy hour after work. Most appetizers are 1/2 off (the Hawaiian Poke, Chicken lettuce wraps, and firey buffalo wings are my favs). Beer, wine and well drinks are also served at great prices.
It gets packed...so bring a jacket to sit on the patio or be prepared to wait a bit for your table.
