Barbers >Floyd's 99 Barber Shop
not even marginally competent barbershop, great cuts, favorite shops encino, like modicum, great music, great group, love place
Not a place for new customers.
This please is not good for new customers as they don't care for the new customers, all though you make an appointment. There this girl with loads of attudie and does not know what she is talking about as I made an appointment at 6:15pm and waited until 7:15pm for the reason that personae I made an appointment was on a break. When he came back they have sent the other customer as he is a regural and the reason I was give is that. She had no idea why I was there???. When I asked why did you make me wait all she said is that you can stand and argue you with me or wait for your tern with another person. This is totally bull. She sitting out there with a drawing book and she call's her self a pro??.
End of the day they don't care as they are too busy taking care of the regurals as they don't want new customers.
Finally an alternative to Mall salon's and Supercuts. Not sure what atudorquene is talking about?? Either they usually go to high end beauty salon's and don't mind paying high end prices OR he's a nerd, that got upset by not getting a plain boring cut. Floyd's is great and MUCH needed. Floyd's is not a beauty salon. It's a barbershop. It's demeaning to compare to Supercuts but that's the level of clientele they are trying to serve (I say that based on the price for the cut). I would never step foot into a Supercuts and I stopped going to Mall Salons ever since Floyd's opened. And I only started going to the "Carlton's" of the world after I felt it was stupid to pay $100 a cut as I was at the high end salons as I need a trim every 4 - 6 weeks. I mention in the "Pros" that it's nice to have english speaking stylists because I never found one at Supercuts and sorry... it is comforting to know that the stylist can translate what you really want instead of giving you the paint by numbers job you get at Supercuts. Finally... C'mon Floyd's gives you an old school blade shave to the back of the neck and don't let you leave the chair w/o a shoulder massage... NICE! All that said I've never been cut by Tyler. Sounds like atudorquene's husband didn't get laid that night... but I sure did thanks to Floyd's :)
Not At All Impressed by this so-called 'in place". My husband's regular hair professional was out of town, and he needed a trim. So, we saw 'Floyd's' while driving down Ventura Blvd. I checked out the website, and it looked doable. We thought, it is a barber shop, how can they go wrong. Well, we were wrong. They, as in 'Tyler G' did a horrible job on his hair, and when she asked how I liked it, and I replied that it looked messy and uneven her attitude was to ignore my dissatisfaction and say something to the effect that it would look better with some product on it. Even my husband remarked that it did not look finished. She just ignored our dissatisfaction, and walked to the reception desk for her next victim, er customer. Hot looking women, as one of the other reviewers remarked upon, and LOUD music, does not a professional or even marginally competent barbershop make. We will NEVER go back there. Thank Goodness our regular stylist is back in town. If you want your hair to look like it was cut with hedge clippers, or like an Anime Character's, then this is the place for you. If you like some modicum of professionalism and talent, then stay away from Floyd's Encino. If I could give them LESS than one star, I would.
I love this place. there are some HOT girls that work here!!! great cuts, great music, and great group of people. out of all the floyds shops encino is my favorite
