Gia has a heart of gold

I was in a time period of terrible personal turmoil and Gia made me feel like family, and remind me I was human and could always use a helping hand. She would take wonderful care of Otto and BoyNamedSue, and was extremely patient when it came to demanding requests.

Also, we went to several other groomers before finding Gia, and the results were horrific (cut paw pad without being told when we picked him up) to the just absolutely worst haircut with no love behind it.

Pour la Pooch is a jewel in LA.

• Cons: parking but it's LA so what's it matter

Gotta Love It!!

Our dog is actually pretty easy-going, as far as Pomeranians go, but he's never liked going to the groomer, except at Pour La Pooch. At most places, he digs his nails into the sidewalk trying to avoid going through the door, but at Pour La Pooch he jumps out of the car and is thrilled to see Gia.

I'm not sure if it's cause and effect, but he also gets the best haircuts here -- Gia is very attentive and he always turns out looking great. We've recommended Pour La Pooch to dozens of fellow dog owners and have never heard a bad thing from anyone.

Personal Touch!

I absolutely love Pour La Pooch. My dog gets a fantastic cut, but the best thing about the place is the personal attention. The owner takes notes of your preferences and keeps them on file. She pays special attention to each individual dog and has a great way of putting the dogs at ease. She's a true dog lover and it makes a huge difference. I used to get really nervous whenever I left my sweet dog with other groomers but now I can rest easy because I know he is being very well taken care of.

Pour La Pooch provides excellent customer service---just ask the dogs I walk!

I have been a dog walker and pet sitter near and around the area of Pour La Pooch, so even though I don't have a dog myself, I know that Gia and her store are awesome! Whenever I go to Pour La Pooch to care for any of "my" animals, the staff provides excellent customer service, the store is very clean, and the pets are happy to be there. As I said, even though the dogs I care for aren't my own, I treat them with the utmost care, and so does Pour La Pooch!

A Little Reasoning...

I was concerned after seeing the negative feedback, but being someone who works in customer service who has experienced slanderous material being posted in an open forum, I decided to do some research. I spoke to my vet, who told me that any animal can still function and be playful even with an injury. It might even be a pre-existing condition that the owner may not be aware of yet. We take our dogs to the vet when we see signs that something is wrong, but how many stories have we all heard of people finding out their dog was sick or hurt, and the owner was completely shocked. I have experienced it myself.

So, I feel it is only fair to share my experience...

I took my very young puppy Emma to Pour la Pooch after she had received her final shots. My poor baby was so scared, as it was her first time to the groomers. Gia and the staff were amazing! As high spirited as Emma (Australian Shepherd) is, they were able to calm her, and they did a beautiful job. To be completely honest, I have taken Emma to other groomers that are closer to my house, but I always return to Pour La Pooch because no other has been able to match their friendly service, gently touch, and an all around love of animals.

• Pros: Wonderful staff who truly love to be around animals
• Cons: You have to book in advance or be there very early in the morning. :(
