absolutely loves gia, wonderful dog grooming shop, great staff, big chain store, very friendly place, love pet, excellent customer service
A real class act!. My dog, Charlie, gets sooooooo excited when it's grooming day! He absolutely loves Gia and her groomers, (not to mention the FREE TREATS she always gives him) he always leaves clean, beautiful and HAPPY! That is a testament to the owner and her employees. A class act that I would recommend to anyone!
Simply The Best!. It's so nice to find a place where "everybody knows your name"! Pour La Pooch is that kind of place. The owner, Gia, talks to the dogs more than the humans!!! She truly loves her clients (the dogs) and treats them like her own. The only complaint I have is how hard it was to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait!
What a treat!. Just moved into town and, lucky me, I was told about Gia and her wonderful shop! She and her employees treated me and Princess like family. Her retail prices are comparable to NYC (high!) but her merchandise is top quality and the service makes it all worth it! I will never go anywhere else!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!. Do not take your dog here. My friend's dog was paralyzed and later died (probably dropped or mishandled). I don't care how nice the owner is, if there are people who work there who are mistreating animals then I'm staying away. And the owner is posting notes saying the dog came in that way and that's not true. I saw the dog that morning.
In my opinion...the truth will set you free, but first it will tick you off.
GIA must have some loyal employees at her store. We must all applaud them for doing their part to write positive reviews on here *clap* *clap*
The funny thing is, every review on here is correct. She is friendly, she does care to an extent, she does have a long lasting positive review from customers...BUT it is also correct that under her care, a dog was injured one morning, then died the next. This customer had been going to her for YEARS (not just one time as some of you have accused), even boasted to others how this was the best place to take your pet to be groomed. So I think it came as a shock to all of us that this incident occured. Accidents sometimes do happen, but it is our actions that follow that define who you are as a person. Immediately after the accident, Gia did not return the concerned owner's phone call claiming she was "too busy". She also offered no explanation, no apology, or any condolences. This is unacceptable and irresponsible.
I think that EVERYONE, as a pet owner (fan of Gia's or not) can agree that our pets are like our children. And to not respond after such a horrible accident occured is just cold hearted, premeditated, and unacceptable. Imagine droping your son or daughter off at the sitters (that you have trusted for years) getting a phone call that somethings wrong, next thing you know your picking up your child with both legs paralyzed. Of course immediately you'd like an explanation! In this case, the owner got nothing.
I understand that everyone is on the defensive, either in support of Gia or against Gia. But consider this: if what had happened to this dog, happened to yours, how would you feel and react?
I have been to this store before and I must honestly say that it is a great store and I felt that the staff was wonderful. But like I said before, it is your actions that define you as a person. Gia showed her true colors. And unfortunately a dog lost its life because of it.
negligence. All animal lovers will agree that our pets are family. We cannot tolerate negligence and unaccountability when left in the care of this or any groomer. A dog left this facility partially paralyzed and subsequently died.
Apperances can be deceiving. Let me start with saying that I don't know ANYONE who wrote on here! All I can say is that I am deeply sorry I ever took my dog here! I put this on all that I love, I regret the day I trusted my precious animal to Gia who acts so sweet and caring. She must have studied acting because does an Oscar Winning performance at playing "nice". She is not rude or disrespectful but truth be told, when it comes to showing care and concern, she shows her true colors. This place is a nightmare with a pretty face!
Hands down, the greatest Dog Grooming shop in LA.
This place is hands down the best dog grooming shop in LA. And, I've been to many. I saw a negative review where someone complained that "Mia" is all about the money. First, most of these customers have been coming to this shop for so many years that they would at least know the owner's name - especially because she is the only one at the front of the store from opening to closing, day in and day out.
Second, Gia (not Mia) is so loyal to her customers and so caring about the dogs that go here that when I (who have been coming to Pour La Pooch since the last owners had it - the groomers haven't changed. Gia, a long time employee, bought the place from her bosses) couldn't get a last minute appointment, Gia called two other boutique shops she likes and asked them if they could squeeze me in. The other place did a solid job but there is no place like Pour La Pooch. My dog drags me there when I'm on walks with her. She loves Gia and all the guys in the back who take care of her. I have never had an experience like I've had here. I've also never written a review on this site but I just received a call from another customer who loves Gia asking me about the negative review. I don't know what incited it. But, I do know that some oddballs have shows up to the store and there are times when she's asked them not to come back - as she said "it's not worth the money," - in order to keep a peaceful environment for her "family" who have been going there for years.
I guarantee that if you are lucky enough to get in to the mix here (they will only groom a certain number of dogs a day in order to not overwork the groomers) you will never, ever, ever want to go elsewhere. Tell her that her second favorite actor says Hello :)
How about all you morons spreading SLANDEROUS LIES about a hard-working, dedicated professional let us know who you are and what YOUR experience is at Pour La Pooch. Better yet, why not get the FULL STORY before you jump on the bandwagon and hide in the anonymity of the internet. FIRST, the injury to the dog did not happen at Pour La Pooch.
SECOND, the dog died as an unfortunate result of being OVER- ANESTHETIZED during an ELECTIVE surgery. Call TLC and they WILL VERIFY THIS.
THIRD, all this nonsense about Gia being TOO BUSY to talk to the grieving owner is just plain stupid. Anyone who has been in Pour La Pooch knows that there is a CONSTANT stream of people and dogs who require Gia's attention. She simply said that she would like to call back at a better time so the person could have her FULL ATTENTION. Imagine if she actually DID neglect someone's dog, then all you IDIOTS would actually have something to write about. You probably wouldn't know what to do with yourselves.
Pour La Pooch is, has been, and will continue to be a GEM of the West Hollywood business community. Gia sets the bar for personal service, care of animals, charitable contributions on behalf of the community, and the giving of her free time to rescue organizations across the state of California. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Pour La Pooch. This person (because it's obviously the same person, or at least hired friends) has no idea what they are talking about! They clearly have some personal problem with Pour La Pooch. They didn't even get the owner's name right! And saying that the place is all about "the money" is just ridiculous! How long has it been since the prices went up? No one will take those moronic reviews seriously, everyone with a BRAIN who has been to Pour a Pooch knows that the service among the best in the city, the prices are as low as you'll find, and the owner treats her clients (the dogs) better than ANYWHERE in the city.
