A snickers bar is still choclate.
I walked in once to this location and could not believe the price they were asking for a small piece of chocolate! I will say that I love chocolate, but this put things out of reach for someone like me on a tight budget.
Nice people, warm environment, but too pricey.
After leaving, I still had the urge for chocolate, so I crossed the street to Bill's Liqour and grabbed a snickers and still had cash to get a Pho from Indochine down the street.
Just OK brownies. I've heard a lot about this place. They just came out as Los Angeles Magazine best brownie. So my wife, a couple friends and I finally made our way out there. I must say I was a bit disappointed. We tried a variety of the different brownies they had to offer plus the cookie ice cream sandwiches. The best thing was the ice cream and I believe they don't even make it there. My recommendation is ... if you're in the area stop by but I DEFINITELY wouldn't go out of my way.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Gourmet brownies finally get their due at this friendly Atwater Village bakery. Forget about boring box mixes, these top-quality, preservative-free delicacies are made with organic ingredients and decadent Valrhona chocolate, which is why the modestly-sized, heart-shaped and traditional square brownies ring in at around $3 to $4 dollars a pop. Choose from brownies made with toasted pecans, cocoa or dark and white chocolate chips (“The Obama Brownie”). There’s also a flourless option and a “Hotter Shot” flavor spiked with cayenne pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger. Beyond brownies, you’ll find a few cupcakes in flavors like carrot cake, lemon tea, chocolate peanut butter and cappuccino. Iced shortbread cookies are usually available as well, along with unique treats like vegan rice pudding. You can also sip on Intelligentsia coffee or hot chocolate, or cool off with L.A.-based Carmela ice cream in flavors like salted caramel, lavender honey and strawberry buttermilk. Can’t wait to get home to savor your sweets? A couple of tables and banquette seating in the picture window provide a cozy spot to sink into sugary bliss.
