Great food bar. I can't review the store itself, since I only go for the deli food bar. The food is always excellent, and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I try to support independent stores. Hope they aren't put out of business by Whole Foods.

Like Whole Foods...in the best of ways. I have been going here for over a year now. I like the salad bar because its organic and the same price as whole foods. They also have a great juice bar, with organic produce. They have an elixir bar, which to me is a little pricy.

The only thing that gets me about the place is has that funky raw smell to it. That could just be me too.

In the end, I go there every few days for juice or the salad bar. I like the atmosphere because its a little more quante (how do you spell that word!?) than Whole Foods, and the people are very knowledgeable.

Vegetarians, vegans and macrobiotic lovers find plenty of offerings in this spacious health-food store.. The Scene
Both Manolos and Birkenstocks clop down the aisles searching for bulk grains, macrobiotic offerings, vitamins, produce and a wide selection of healthy fast food. Service is earnest, but at times, sales assistants are more interested in socializing than helping customers. The bright, wide-open space and the unusual selection of products will tempt you to linger longer than your parking meter will allow.

The Goods
This is a vegan and vegetarian mecca. For instant gratification, go to the deli for organic hot soups, vegetable and bean salads, pasta and hot foods. Or stop by the sushi counter where staff chefs roll your custom order in brown or white rice. All packaged goods strictly adhere to Erewhon's edict: no white sugar, no hydrogenated oils, no preservatives and no red meat. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, mostly organic, are available in the far back of the store.

go organic. i'd been looking for a natural foods store in los angeles, that is equivalent to mother's in orange county. erewhon is it. i go for the organic produce and bulk foods like granola or other dry foods. good selection of vitamins and personal grooming products. and if you're a kcrw member, you get 10% off. they've also got parking lot in the back of the store as a bonus, but you need to fight off the grove traffic.

best market created.... EVER. hands down the best market/grocery store/ food place ever created!! must go and see for yourself. amazing
