Gotta love this store and the tiny strip they are on! There are like 5 or 6 stores on this tiny spot between 4th and 6th street on La Brea! Best gift shop strip in town!. I love this store! Very helpful designers and they are very, VERY doggy friendly! That let me bring my doggy Betty into the store...Anyway, I enjoy this store so much and will tell all my friends to go here!

A lavish potpourri of turn-of-the-century American and Western European wood furnishings.. The Scene
Named for the classic furniture method of joinery, the warehouse-size store is like America itself: a gargantuan melting pot of ethnic identities and sizes and ages. Oversize sofas in delicious fabrics like distressed leather, brushed velvet and chenille, and broad, dark wood tables and cabinets seem to dominate the space, but explore further and one will discover a Polynesian drum coffee table, Chinese armoires and French-inspired carved wood columns. Covertly tucked upstairs, a loft of children's early American bedroom furniture boasts such creations as rocking motorcycles and train engines and classic nursery rhyme mobiles.

The Goods
"Livable, relaxed, user-friendly furniture," and all hand-crafted: Spanish, Gothic, Tuscan and farmhouse motif club chairs, elm sideboards, wine buffets, stackable chests, majestic beds, entertainment centers and more. Patrons are fond of oversize pieces, such as wall-size mirrors, sprawling coffee tables and bulky dressers. Much of the wood, upholstery and built-ins are made custom, and manufactured in North Hollywood.
