What People Are Saying About Eat A Pita

In Short – A dozen tables fill a shaded, ivy-covered patio, warmed by heat lamps for year-round al fresco dining. As the name implies, this no-frills establishment banks on Middle Eastern fare packed into pitas: fillings include falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, and the house specialty, marinated lamb and beef shawarma. Popular sides are canola oil-fried potatoes and thick, lightly fried eggplant and zucchini slices. A tahini and salsa bar at the takeout counter allows diners to use just the right amount of sauce.
Editor's Tips
- Parking:
- A rare find in the busy mid-Fairfax neighborhood, the eatery has its own lot in back.
- The Extras:
- For essentially the same menu with a bit more scene, head for the Eat a Pita owners' other restaurant, Noura on Melrose.

One of my favorite places in LA
by thechasela
Eat a Pita has been a favorite of mine for years. The food is fantastic (chicken plate w/a side of pita chips is my order of choice).
A mix of Hollywood hipsters, incognito stars and neighborhood regulars stand in a line together to place their order and fill the outdoor patio dining area.
Check it out, you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Great food and outdoor dining area
- Cons: Parking is a bit tough but worth the trouble
Great atmosphere, good food and great price

Tasty food at a great price. Great place for lunch & dinner, or a casual date! Fountains, plants, candles, xmas lights, and cool music make for an unexpectedly lovely atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced and served quickly. Everything comes on plastic plates & trays, but I'll gladly give up chinaware if it saves me a couple bucks on my meal.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Great value, Outdoor seating
- Cons: Next to a bus stop
