Editorial Review for Moishe's – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
One look at the trays of brightly colored side dishes and sample plates, and it's easy to see why there's always a line at this popular Farmers Market eatery. The portions are generous, be it the kebab, gyro or falafel entrees, or side dishes like mouhamara (spicy walnut-and-red pepper dip), jajek, a yogurt-and-mint combination with chunks of cucumber and hummus.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

The ladies behind the counter will heap rice and pitas onto your plate, but they're not much for food recommendations. Figure out what you want before you get to the front of the line.

This is authentic Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food, practically on par with Zankou! They prepare it fairly quickly and it never disappoints. The portions are generous. The service, however... well, it pretty much sux. Don't expect acknowledgement, a hello, a smile, a confirmation of your order, or anything other than your change. A few notes, in advance: 1) They don't have sodas. Walk over to the pizza joint and get yourself a Diet Coke. 2) They don't validate parking for The Grove. 3) They will begrudgingly give you extra napkins, ketchup and other stuff if you ask calmly and repeatedly. Other than that -- enjoy!

Pros: Great food, good portions, worth the prices

Cons: Less-than-desireable service, crowded chairs and tables (in Farmer's Market)

It doesn't look like the people running this place are happy to see customers ordering food at their place. There will be no smiles and if you don't really know what entree or side orders you want then be prepared for some brusque remarks. It's worse than super-fast-food service. Do them a favor and take your business elsewhere. Maybe that will make them happy as you won't be bothering them.

Pros: Food is OK

Cons: Impolite people
