Great Place for Dads and Kids. My dad took me here along with his dad (my grandpa). They had a great time talking about the cars and remembering 'when' while I had fun photographing them (the cars). It was lots of fun and I learned a lot without it being Educational.

From hot rods to movie cars, L.A.'s love affair with chrome, steel and pistons encapsulated.. In Short
The three-story Beach Boys-style car fins that flank the building let visitors know that this museum means vehicular business. It's not a showroom of dusty wheels that haven't seen asphalt in years but a visual history of the evolution of the car and its impact on Southern California.

Worth The Coupon Price. My family and I went primarily for the Hot Wheels Exhibit but the other exhibits were nice too. I'm not sure I would've been satisified with our visit though if we had paid full price. We had a coupon for one adult admission free with purchase and since all three of our children are under the age of 5 we ended up only having to pay $10. We're not BIG "car people" but it was a good value for 10 bucks.

In this city, this museum is perfect!. Angelenos have long been married to their cars. Before I moved here, I laughed at "L.A. Story," now I nod solemnly as I watch it. The Petersen Auto Museum is right at home in Los Angeles, offering a wonderful look at the vehicles of yesteryear, including L.A.'s famous Red Car trolley service. Schedule a full day to see all the exhibits and ogle the beautifully restored vehicles kept here. It's a great trip for the whole family, or present for an automotive buff.

Fun Facts and Interesting History. This is the place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Meandering around this museum gets you interesting historic facts on America's early automotive days. For those who are star struck, the Peterson also houses famous cars from television and movies. Those of us who love fast cars and kustom cars, this is also the place to go. Bring the kids too! There are tons of interactive things for them to learn from and a pretty nifty gift shop.
