wonderful achievements
My trip to your museum.
I took my grandson and other family members to this museum on Saturday 3/2/08 and was very disappointed. I expected to show my grandson the wonderful achievements we as a people have made and the only thing on display was how we were slaves not only in America but in Mexico as well. We get that we were slaves. Where were the significant achievements of our people.
I felt so sick to my stomach that I had to sit down and catch my breath.
As usual the only significant black man was Marting Luther King. He is not the only black man that has stood up for the black people.
This was extremely disappointing and a waste of time.
Newly renovated museum enlightens the African American experience, with an emphasis on the West..
In Short
Located in Exposition Park's small cluster of museums, CAAM tells the story of a culture through performing and visual arts. The introspective space showcases black contributions to the worlds of painting, sculpture, music and other arts arenas. In addition to large-scale traveling exhibitions and accompanying programs, the museum also owns an impressive permanent collection.
