In Short – The neon Astro sign, clean chrome-and-plastic interior and handwritten wall menu conjure up images of Archie comics gone Hollywood. A vegetarian's fast-food haven, the menu offers an incredible array of meatless meals, from mock chicken-and-beef fajitas to saucy faux-riblets. And meat eaters can dress up their patties any way imaginable, from bacon- and cheese-smothered to Hawaiian-style, with mounds of grilled onions, pineapple and teriyaki. As a side, the crispy, salty steak fries go well with everything.
Awesome veggie menu!!!

If you like Gardenburgers, you HAVE to try their gardenburger deluxe, which comes with avocado (my personal favorite)! They have great burritos, and burgers, and so much else to choose from! Hummus, pizza and even breakfast! And you've got to love the drive-thru option! All reasonably priced!
The best vegetarian fast food, hands down.

Astro Burger has been an LA favourite of mine since long before I moved here. We'd make sure we made it to Astro as many times as possible whenever we were in town and the enthusiasm for it has not died down.
It's very handy if you have vegetarians and meat eaters to accommodate. There's something for everything, and no-one is getting jibbed. It's all good food!
The vegetarian menu is astounding with possibly the best item being the meatless Chick'N Grill. I'm also a fan of the Maui veggie burger with a piece of pineapple in it. The fries are also very fresh tasting and always cooked to perfection.
I would suggest, however that you stay away from the pizza. I ate that once and it was below average. Other than that, you can't go wrong with Astro Burger!
The owner is a vegetarian, which is why I never feel I have to worry about my order getting mixed up there as I'm sure he strictly enforces the importance of getting it right and no contamination. So far, in the last five years I've never had a screw up.
Vegetarians, this ain't the place

Not to be confused with the Astro Burger over on Santa Monica in West Hollywood. This place boasts an impressive veggie menu, that unfortunately doesn't deliver. I pulled in, thinking it was the same chain as the one in W. Hollywood (which makes the BEST veggie burgers), and ordered what was probably about the saddest veggie burger I've ever had. I really was sad when I took my first bite. I did, however, try a hamburger at another time and it was pretty good. But other things I've tried there were sub-par: the breakfast burrito and the chicken burrito aren't the greatest, and neither are the onion rings. So I guess just come here for the hamburgers.
