very nice ok rooms, favorite place, fresh beautifully, not that good drinks, great service, professional crowd, very informative staff
Pricey but oh so beautiful! The super white decor and sleek design will make you feel all warm inside. The outside area is the perfect place to meet out-of-town guests for a few appetizers and a cocktail.
Nice Bar scene, ok rooms.. The place has a nice bar and outdoor area.. I don't feel like the rooms are special, on the small side and the pool is small, but it does look good at night while sitting at a cabana sipping a drink in the warm summer. Warning - the valet and drinks are not cheap, but the crowd is pretty good.
Rooms were a disappointment. Rooms were pretty cheesy but at least they tried? The pool is very, very small. Staff is cordial and tried hard. Night life here isn't bad. Outside really needs to be redone, it looks pretty bad and cheesy all the more. I wouldn't stay here again. Not worth the price. But locals love it to hang out at in the lobby, which is pretty small.
CLASSY!!!. So I have missed the Viceroy's Sunday event 3 weeks in a row! Finally some of my girls got me to go on a day i didn't have to record. They talked about how chill the Sunday parties were with the Live D.J. by the poolside for weeks. So I valet my car..Walk thru the hotel...And around the pool were some of the finest females I'd ever seen in my life! Music was of the chain as I ordered a keylime martini with grahm cracker crust around the rim!..Whoa! I just continued to kick back with my feet up in a soft deck chair while the wind blew! Can't say i would have rather been anywhere else at the time. Everyone else was dancing....Me?....I relaxed and enjoyed the eye candy! The VICEROY WINS HANDS DOWN FOR A MID-DAY PARTY!!!
Daring design in a stunning coastal boutique property..
The Scene
The decor of this intimate beach hotel lies somewhere between bold modern 1970s American and classic British eccentric. Formerly the Pacific Shores Hotel, its color scheme of Kelly green, dark gray, black and bright white blends with antique furniture and intriguing contemporary touches. The hotel is very well-situated in Santa Monica, one block from the beach and just a few from the Third Street Promenade.
The Details
China plates and an oversized cameo adorn the walls of the lobby, which is filled with white leather lounges and furry rugs. Porcelain dogs greet guests at the elevator doors, and the halls are accented with sleek Mylar. The interior design is anything but understated, yet a soothing calm prevails in the lovely guest rooms, which feature ocean views. A number of popular touches in the recreation area include two plunge pools, patio-side reading library and swanky private cabanas.
Great local getaway. Though we live in Toluca Lake we visit the Viceroy once a year on our anniversary . It is absolutely spectacular. Great views, people watching & comforts. We would highly recommend it to all.
Upscale Business Traveler. This is where I choose to stay every time in LA. Small with well appointed rooms - definately THE BEST BED award! Top restaurant and good bar scene. Has everything you want and if you have no reason to be in the city (BH or Downtown) this is a great alternative. You are across the street from the beach and near great shopping. Excellent place to stay if traveling alone - near everything and includes nightlife. Great value for Santa monica "close to beach" hotel.
I don't stay here but I love to drink here!!!. This place has a great night scene...upscale, professional crowd...Good looking people! My favorite place in Santa Monica!
