What People Are Saying About Jet Rag

In Short – This barn-like structure houses the largest collection of conservatively priced vintage in L.A. The owners make an attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff by displaying the more desirable items behind the cash register, but you're just as likely to find something stunning on the racks. From ultra-loud polyester to subtle denim and corduroy and all points in between, Jet Rag's got it all.

Editor's Tips

Save Money:
Want a shirt for a buck? On Sundays, the staff hauls the merchandise to the parking lot and nothing costs more than $1.
Parking:
Jet Rag has a small parking lot, but spots are more plentiful on La Brea. Just take heed of the signs, or you will be ticketed.

  1. My friend suggested going here for their big Sunday sale in their parking lot.
  2. The dressing rooms are fun because they are a little scary.
  3. Great atmosphere and the $1 sale on the weekend is brilliant.
  4. used to love Aaardvark's the most but now this place is my "visit-every-other-week" place, when I get a hankering for something cheap and fun.
  5. should also comment on the great customer service at this location.

  1. was extremely impressed w/ the quality and selection of the clothing, prices were excellent, not exactly "thrift store" prices but still reasonable, I was totally turned off by the employees, one employee in particular.
  2. great selection, not so great people.
  3. Excellent value, good selection
  4. They have a great selection at great prices.
  5. This place has a great selection of clothes at reasonable prices.
  6. The best reasons to go to this place are the selection of t-shirts (lots of cool older rock tees and random strange tees for places in the midwest and such) which usually run in the $8-$12 range.
  7. You feel like you are walking into a prop department at a nearby Hollywood Studio, and the prices are pretty decent, in lieu of the endless selection.
  8. The selection is great (the store's two floors are full of well-filled clothing racks).
  9. This store has a large selection of retro and up-to-date clothes and at reasonable prices.

  1. great selection, not so great people.
  2. The only downside I'd have to say about this place is that so many people have heard about the great Sunday sales that they come in droves for the deals, which sometimes makes it hard to find the best stuff if you don't come early.
  3. It's a great space inside, and I've never really noticed too much attitude on the staff.
  4. was extremely impressed w/ the quality and selection of the clothing, prices were excellent, not exactly "thrift store" prices but still reasonable, I was totally turned off by the employees, one employee in particular.
  5. The people are more snooty than they are friendly, but youre not going there to make friends anyway.
  6. should also comment on the great customer service at this location.

  13. best dresses, great coats, dollar mayhem
  14. Lately alot of thrift stores are expensive since it is the new thing but this store keeps it cheap and nice.
  15. Vintage clothing doesn't get any better than at Jet Rag, a lofty store with reasonable prices.
  16. My only complaint is that the dollar sale wasn't that terrific, but then again, I should have showed up earlier since everything was already picked through.

Awesome enormous vintage collection

by ladyblanche at Citysearch

This place is great, I went today for the first time on a sunday when they have the one dollar sale outside. There are piles of clothing everywhere and everything's a dollar. I didnt find too much, a cute pink 80's sweatshirt and a silk scarf. Most of the clothing wasnt my size or it was stained or ripped, but mind you I came very late, around 3, i hear its best to go write in the morning cause thats when all the good stuff is there. I did find alot of womens polyester button up shirts though, which are great, but i already have so many that i refrained from getting more!

Inside is awesome, they have two floors and they have an amazing selection of dresses. They have racks and racks just dedicated to 60's. They have great tops too, I bought an 80's black beaded sleeveless top with sequin and beaded flowers on it of orange, purple and green. Their prices are great too!! The top was 18 dollars, at most places youd pay 30 for something like that. They had tons of tops for only 6 or 8 dollars too. I also got some matte leather calf-height boots that are super comfy, only 34 dollars. They had tons of coats and jackets for under 40 dollars, which is very surprising, its hard to find good vintage coats that arent super expensive. They also had very high quality more expensive coats too, leather and fur, etc.

I would defenetly reccommend this to anyone who loves vintage clothing at good prices. It seemed like the eras they focus on are more 60's, 70's and 80's. I didnt see tooo much stuff from decades before that, but im sure its there. I went on an empty stomach, wanted to look around more but it can be tiring and overwhemling in there, its a huge place and you want to give yourself alot of time to look around at everything.

I would recommend go on a sunday morning, go through the dollar stuff first, see if you find some finds, and then once you've had enough of that, go into the store.

The things I bought:

80's pink sweatshirt (dollar)

Yellow, green and brown silk scarf (dollar)

Black matte leather calf high boots, 1 1/2 inch heel

70's or 80's i think ($34)

Black, orange, purple and green beaded/sequined 80's sleeveless top ($18) They have TONS of these by the way!!

80's earrings ($5)

Go and have fun!

Right on La brea at willoughby.

Dolla, Make Me Wanna Holla

Dollar Sale Sundays!! Yes. You read that right. On Sundays, their parking lot is piled hip high with clothing for only $1. You'll have to get down on your knees to sift through everything, but it will all be worth it when you find that one magical piece... FOR A DOLLAR!

Best Thrift Store Finds in town!!

by StephieMM85 at Citysearch

I am now officially in love with this place! I found the cutest dress for only $25! My friend suggested going here for their big Sunday sale in their parking lot. Good luck finding street parking, we had to park in the residential neighborhood and walk, but when we got there...SO MANY PEOPLE! It was so much fun. I felt like it was a challenge trying to find something in all the piles of clothes. We went inside and found some amazing stuff that were still really reasonably priced! I am totally coming here again!

  • Pros: Great Selection, Good Prices, Sunday Parking Lot Sale!

best !

by bri13 at Citysearch

I love this place . Oh man it is so great . Every sunday , everything in the parking lot $1 ! but you will have to dig through piles and piles of clothes. And you should definitely go very early to pick the best things . And be aware . A lot of people will just randomly choose things , put it in a container , and try them on , so be quick in looking through things . All i could find was a shirt when i went , but i got other things from inside . Outside is chaos , but inside is this huge treasure trove of things. Oh wow . My grama and mum were having some crazy flashbacks. Hahah ! A lot of great sun glasses , necklaces , button , pathces , vests , hats , dresses , shoes , etc. ! I highly recommend this store . And make sure you devote a lot of time to looking though things . You can NOT just spend a hour in here !
