They will be nice until you have a problem..
I used Extra Space storage in the past and did not have a problem at that time (5855 W Centinela Ave 90045)). So I decided to use them again.
My problem is:
I moved all my stuff out on a Sunday. While moving out I noticed green and light color mold / fungi on several items. Plus the unit smelled like mold. Unfortunately for me I moved out on a Sunday when the office is closed. I called them on Monday (the next business day) and of course the manager is not available until Tuesday. So I call today (Tuesday) and the manager of course still is not available. The guy states the maintenance crew checked twice (On Monday – after my call) and they did not see any mold or fungi. This is crazy! Now they are calling me a lie and doing nothing to help. I asked the guy, why would I lie? There was even a hole in the wall of the unit / that I did not notice while moving my things in. You could see the left over mold on the floor of the unit and everything.
Thinking the manager was going to return my call, no the same guy I spoke to on Monday and Tuesday is returning my call. He told me I have insurance and to contact the insurance facility. Basically FORGET ME! Is how I felt. So now, Forget me and I am a lie. This is ridiculous.
Thank goodness I took pictures of the hole in the wall of the unit, because the insurance company (Beecher Carlson) states they do not cover mold, but in my case, since there is a hole in the wall of the unit, they MAY cover it. Then again they MAY NOT!
So all I can do is wait and see what will happen, after spending over $5,000 within the two years of having my things in the unit. I should have sold my things and started new, but some of my things have sentimental value.
I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN!
