GREAT PIZZA, FAST DELIVERY, GOOD VALUE!!!!. I ordered pizza and it was delivered in 30 min. The pizza is always delivered hot, the drivers are always friendly, and overall it is great. I tried many other pizzas, but this one is the BEST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PIZZA TO EVERYBODY.

Don't order delivery. I go there for a slice sometimes, and it's amazing - such a yummy NYC style pizza. Then I order a pie and it's disgusting. Tons of mealy cheese, crust is thick and hardly any sauce at all. Happened three times over two years (1st time I figured just a bad pie, 2nd time I was annoyed then this time I just plum forgot how bad it was and ordered on a whim) Do they call out to another pizza place for their deliveries?? Or do they just grab an old pie, throw crap on it and toss it in the oven. Either way - epic fail!! Not even going back for the slice pizza I always liked.

Silver Lake storefront serves tasty New York-style pizza.. Located steps away from Trader Joe’s and Gelson’s, this no-frills pizza joint specializes in thin crust, New York style pizza that’s light on sauce and chock full of toppings. Below a frenetic neon sign that makes a lot of promises (Best Pizza! … Ranked #1! … ), the retractable window-walls let in a nice breeze. Still, despite a few wooden tables and a wall of Polaroids, there’s not much to this simple storefront. Reheated slices with cold beer are a decent option, but most people opt for fresh pies served via takeout or delivery. Thin-crust pizzas come in medium (15 inch) or large (18 inch), while deep-dish, pan pizzas are offered in 12 or 17-inch pies. Among the specialty pizzas, favorites include the barbecue chicken pizza, and an eggplant, spinach and mushroom combo. There are also stuffed pizzas (meat or vegetarian); toasted Italian sandwiches (steak, sausage, meatball, eggplant, etc.); and hearty dinners ranging from lasagna to eggplant parmesan. On the side, don’t miss the salads, which include tasty options like marinated artichoke hearts, curry chicken pasta salad and mostaccioli with ranch-parmesan dressing, carrots and broccoli. The staff working the counter tend to be on the young side, and the customer service can be hit or miss.

When sometimes the only things you really appreciate to be vintage, is the taste.. My most recent visit to Hard Times Pizza Co. was very much like any other time , consistent. The youthful staff may intimidate some, but they don't bite! The barbeque chicken is my most favorite slice out of that estabilishment by far! i noticed the addition of the fountain drinks as well, its nice to see that some parts of the neighborhood aren't always falling into the vintage thing. The taste however, was and still is Hard Times Pizza Co..

au revoir,

Frances

Yummy!. Hard Times is my fav pizza place in LA. The slices are just the right thickness, and not too greasy or saucy or cheesy! I agree, that the staff is pretty apathetic, but whatever, it's a pizza joint! Any teenagers behind a counter are going to be bitchy. It doesn't phase me, the pizza is too good.

rude service, burned pizza. We called for delivery, the service felt very rushed and rude. The pizza was burned (black) on the bottom and the sauce was too sweet. (Agh!!)

Hair burnt to the crust. I've been to hard times many times and recently, went back to get a slice. As I sat to let the pepperoni slice cool off, I noticed on the bottom of the crust that there was a hair stuck & burned to the crust. I showed it to them & they were not even phased by the crunchy twisted black hair. I really wanted a slice of pizza so I asked if I could get another one. As I sat and waited for the new slice, I thought about it. Do I really want another slice from Hard Times. Plus, they didn't even offer a refund and the free slice. The woman even have a nerve to get mad at me when I finally asked for a refund. WOW! Things have changed with these 'new' recent owners/management. They sure are bringing Hard Times to a record low. I've lost my taste forever. Go somewhere else & fast!

Best pizza around!. They have the best pizza! I love the thin and thick crust. The spaghetti is also very good and it comes with a large fresh garden salad and french bread. So good, I have it delivered once a week.
