Editorial Review for McCarran International Airport – by Karina Dominguez

In Short
McCarran has two terminals, with Terminal 2 serving non-regularly scheduled international flights and charters. Scheduled airlines include Alaska, Allegiant Air, Aloha, America West, American, British Airways, Continental, Champion Air, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue and others. All gates connect to the main terminal via a passenger tram arriving and departing every one to tw minutes. If the slot machines aren't enough, the main terminal rotunda and shopping esplanade contain a variety of stores and restaurants.

No surprises here. Where else can you gamble as you wait for your luggage? The airport concourse was layed out OK, but the wait for luggage seemed longer than average. The queue's for the taxi's are a good idea, but there's so much concentration of passengers in one area that it's still quite congested. It seems like they would be better served if there were multiple queues, at least in the busy times.

I give this airport high marks. Flying in was a breeze. you can easily get a shuttle to take you to your hotel. the airport is only like 10 minutes from the Strip. the lines move fast here and if you are bored you can play some slots until your flight boards

Pros: slot machines, close to the Strip, easy shuttle access
