best STRAWBERRY SHORT CAKE/CHOCOLATE KISSES. I HAVE NEVER TASTED A STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE LIKE RUBY'S BAKERY. THEY ALSO HAVE THE BUTTERFLY W/ HONEY ON IT. DON'T FORGET THE CHOCOLATE KISSES (MERINGUE PUFFS W/ CHOCOLATE SPRINKLES) THERE IS NO BETTER BAKERY THAN THIS ONE. AND I'M SORRY TO SAY, IT SMOKES PORTO'S IN THE DESERT ARENA. I LOVE YOU RUBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Small and unassuming, this neighborhood bakery has been quietly serving Eagle Rock since 1983. Known for their fantastic prices, the bakery serves up light, fluffy cakes, including the celebrated strawberry cream cake, a not-too-sweet indulgence with fresh berries and whipped cream. When in season, the mango cake is another neighborhood favorite. Got a kid's birthday party coming up? This is probably one of the few places in town you can get a Disney-themed sheet cake for ten bucks or less. And forget about LA's trendy cupcake boutiques--you can still get a good old-fashioned chocolate cupcake here for 60 pennies. Oversized cream puffs, chocolate eclairs and generous slices of cake will set you back less than two bones, while a buck will get you a handful of all sorts of cookies. If you can't wait to get home to quell your sugar cravings, snag one of two tables in the friendly, no-frills space. Beyond the sweets, the bakery also offers Mylar balloons and a few cards--perfect if you're en route to a celebration.

Best Strawberry Cream Cake. I always order their strawberry cream cake for birthdays, which is a white cake with whipped cream and strawberries, and it's always well received. I got one for my daughter's birthday party and I ordered a large sheet cake thinking it was probably too much. It was gone in a flash! I didn't have any left over.

They also have fantastic little baked goods, especially their turnovers. All the prices, including the cakes, are very affordable. I can't say enough good things about them.

Light cakes with fresh filling. Sounds like the ad for a twinkie, doesn't it? Well, this small neighborhood bakery can whip up a great cake for almost any birthday or celebration. I've never ordered anything bigger than a sheet cake, but I'm sure they'd do just fine with it. This little Asian bakery specializes in the typical Chinese white cake with strawberries and whipped cream frosting. But my favorite is the chocolate cake with bananas -- a nice diversion from the typical. They're very good about offering suggestions on caketop decorations and have a variety of things. They've always been friendly and extremely well priced.
