In Short – A loyal clientele made up of families, casual couples and teenagers on their big night out pack into this small restaurant's 1950's time warp of red-checked tablecloths and faded posters of the old country. A menu of classic Italian fare--spaghetti, lasagna, homemade sausage and breaded eggplant--is accompanied by thin-crust pizza, delivered bubbling hot and dripping with cheese, tomato sauce and heaps of toppings.

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Reservations aren't accepted, so a wait should be expected. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant serves complimentary deep-fried Sicilian rice balls (arancini di riso) to sate appetites.
What to Drink:
A selection of wine is available, but the best value is reserved for those who bring their own: The corkage fee is just $2.50.

  3. Long lines and no parking for bad food is not my idea of a fun night out.
  4. The parking sucks, and the wait is long, but it's worth it.

  6. Go for the pizza -- it's worth the trip -- but be prepared for crowds and a hideous parking situation.
  7. Great pizza, bad location
  8. They don't have any parking, but it's a nice neighborhood and the short walk is always helpful when you come out feeling so full.
  9. great family environment, but personally, I find it very romantic in a nostalgic way, as well.
  10. Red-checkered tablecloths add retro atmosphere to an already fantastic meal, and while their crispy, thin-crusted pizza is unquestionably the star of the show, several pasta dishes are also offered, including spaghetti carbonara, linguini with pesto, and

  13. The famous critic can't say enough about Casa Bianca's pizza pie.
  14. Casa Bianca isn't typical big ol' slices, but the flavor bursts and confirms the decision to branch out and give somewhere besides Village a try for some pie.

  115. The best pizza.
  116. There are lots of great (OK, at least good) pizzas to be found in LA - start with Antica in Marina Del Rey, which never makes the ratings, but is a bona fide Neopolitan style pizza with the certification papers to prove it.
  117. Because the food is not great.
  118. love the crispy crust pizza at Casa Bianca.
  119. The teenage staff and outdated interior at least give it the feel of a college town pizza joint (which I guess it is), but if you're looking for a decent pizza, Albano's, Palermo, and Hard Times are all head and shoulders above this travesty.

  132. And, I don't see why people have said this is the best pizza ever.
  133. You can always hide sub-par crust or cheese with a great or even good sauce.

  144. The sauce is so tasty and delicious, I think they put cr**k in it.
  145. In short this place is my favorite place in all of LA not only for pizza but as a restaurant in general.
  146. This pizza is terrific -- thin, crispy, great sauce.
  147. Everything is excellent, but the pizza is the best thin crust I've ever had, and I have lived in Europe and spent a LOT of time in Italy.
  148. Some of the Best Pizza in L.A. Considering the previously mentioned I do not think I will ever wait 1 hour 45 minutes for some of the best pizza in L.A. again.
  149. The brushetta was great and the pizza was amazingly great - Not by just NY standards, this place can hold its own anywhere anytime.
  150. waiters/waitresses. i recommend their pizzas.
  151. Sure there were literally signs on their walls hyping how good they are -- from the zagat survey to the AOL "Voted best pizza" sticker -- but the whole experience just failed to dazzle us.
  152. Don't expect great food.
  153. Regardless, canned toppings on a pizza chopped into tiny bite size squares makes for inedible slop.
  154. Will probably try the deep dish next and see where this "best pizza" description from.
  155. Pinapple and ham pizza is my usual order.
  156. bad attitude, horrible food, cake charge?
  157. Unfortunately I had read previous rateings raving about this place that did not mention the canned ingredients and I love mushroom pizza, but nowadays who thinks to ask if a pizzaria uses canned mushrooms?

  159. love the thin crust with the crunchy bottom (corn meal?)
  160. you dont have to be a foodie or a pizza afficionado to give this pizza the worst rating
  161. have tried some tasty salads and had bites off the pasta plates of friends, and it's great.
  162. also recommend the pasta d.
  163. But don't go here looking for good pizza.
  164. not only was the crust moist and soggy, the pizza didn't even taste good.
  165. Good real pizza and good meatballs!
  166. But, when I found Casa Bianca I had finally found an excellent pizza in SoCal.
  167. The pizza was pretty good, but not amazing.
  168. delicious extra cheese pizza!
  169. Red-checkered tablecloths add retro atmosphere to an already fantastic meal, and while their crispy, thin-crusted pizza is unquestionably the star of the show, several pasta dishes are also offered, including spaghetti carbonara, linguini with pesto, and
  170. We are going to visit soon and am dreaming about the garlic and pepperoni pizza and the most incredible antipasto salad anywhere!
  171. Honestly, I would like to know what those who have written a negative review consider a good pizza--one of those pretentious tasteless Beverly Hills-hip pizza houses?

  177. Don't get me wrong--I like salt and grease as much as the next pizza lover, but this was just a joke.
  178. have lived in the Eagle Rock area for several years and always find myself at Casa Bianca when I want good thin crust pizza.
  179. The al fredo sauce is truly authentic, the garlic bread is a great appitiezer of about $2.00 and the cannolis, sausage, meatballs, and all sauces are homemade as well.
  180. This means a long wait, which may help spark appetites and form the impression that the food is actually good.
  181. That food critic from LA Times was absolutely right when he said this place is good but absolutely not the best.
  182. Everything was good from the mozarella sticks to the deluxe pizza.
  183. The food here is the best.
  184. went the other night to "get a great pizza
  185. Great pizza, bad location
  186. That's to say nothing bad about California-style pizza--I love it--but I've found few traditional-styled pizzas in Los Angeles that rate next to those from back home.
  187. Friendly folks, mediocre pizza, so-so-food
  188. Hm, my favorite pizza place of all is still Casa Biance Pizza Pie.
  189. We all love the food.
  190. The Times rated them as the best pizza joint in L.A. Incredible thin crust pizza.
  191. The antipasta salad is the best you will ever find also.
  192. This is not Pizza Hut, this is the authentic article!

  40. the street parking is TERRIBLE, service can be slow (frequently 45-60 min waits on weekends). If you're obsessed with "California style" pizza with fresh ingredients (as opposed to high quality canned mushrooms etc.), this may not be the place for you, bu
  41. I'm not a big fan of surly service no matter how good YOU think your food is.
  42. The staff are always friendly and try to turn over tables quickly without sacrificing service and quality.
  43. Really nice enviornment, great food, great and friendly service.

  1. Great pizza, great value
  2. Go for the pizza -- it's worth the trip -- but be prepared for crowds and a hideous parking situation.
  3. The portions are huge.
  4. Other dishes, too were disappointing and forgettable, though served in large portions and well-priced.
  5. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and it's so cheap a poor college student can afford to get an actual drink instead of just water.
  6. The good news is that the beer and wine prices are very reasonable so just sit back and enjoy a glass of Chianti while you are waiting.
  7. The pizza didn't look good, greasy and unappitizing I am kind of happy I didn't have to pay for their overpriced pizza I don't think it would have been worth it.
  8. Over all there is always a waite to get a seat but thats the price you pay for a yummy family hole in the wall!
  9. What you can find is a healthy serving of spaghetti and meatballs, a huge basic antipasto platter, and neverending sodas.
  10. The pizza itself is amazing, I recommend an eggplant and meatball pie, and the prices are awesome.
  11. If you want good family style italian food at cheap prices, go to Pamadero in Los Feliz.
  12. The service was very friendly as well as the price.
  13. You have the option of ordering a la carte or as a dinner meal; the dinner includes soup, tea or coffee and a scoop of ice cream for dessert -- a great value.
  14. Great pizza okay prices.
  15. Absolutely the best pizza in L.A. at the best value.
  16. The parking sucks, and the wait is long, but it's worth it.
  17. Great pizza, cheap prices, the best home-made sausage, average pasta (but who goes there for pasta), nice waitresses, homey feeling and A REALLY LONG LINE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
  18. I'm not a huge pepperoni fan but I can't do anything else but pepperoni and garlic there.
  19. Corkage is an AMAZING $3 so you can bring a great bottle of vino (bring a zin, darnit) and enjoy yourself without worrying about price.
  20. It is cheap, and I thought about giving it a higher value rating, but then I decided that no matter how cheap it is, it's too much to pay for inedible crap.
  21. think people flock to this joint because it is just a little more expensive than dominos and the portion are huge
  22. don't recommend this place at all, not worth the time.
  23. Good restaurants are worth adjusting your normal eating schedule for.

  1. Long, long, long waits, but great pizza.
  2. Great food, always a long waite!
  3. Some of the Best Pizza in L.A. Considering the previously mentioned I do not think I will ever wait 1 hour 45 minutes for some of the best pizza in L.A. again.
  4. True, the service is slow, but the sausage topping is quite delicious (and it's usually not a topping of my choice).
  5. Thin crust N.Y. style, great garlic bread, kinda slow but friendly service, really a treat.
  6. the street parking is TERRIBLE, service can be slow (frequently 45-60 min waits on weekends). If you're obsessed with "California style" pizza with fresh ingredients (as opposed to high quality canned mushrooms etc.), this may not be the place for you, bu
  7. We were the sat at a very uncomfortable wooden chair, we noticed there were three open booths and asked the move the older lady at the front said no that there were other people waiting to sit there then they sat these 2 guys at one of them who had been w
  8. am not one of those people with no taste buds, who has never had decent pizza -- I've had pizza in Boston, Chicago, New York, and Rome, so I know the difference between a good slice o' pie and a glorified, Pizza Hut $3.99 lunch buffet, been-under-the-he
  9. This means a long wait, which may help spark appetites and form the impression that the food is actually good.
  10. The parking sucks, and the wait is long, but it's worth it.
  11. long wait and drive slightly detracted from the delicious pizza and friendly staff.
  12. Too long of a wait and not good enough food.

Tasty as ever

by MadelineLa

Took one home, was on my way from work. Didn't check the place itself, but service was nice, friendly, and it didn't take long to wait for my order. I felt through the box how hot it is, and sent was breaking out. Couldn't wait to grab a bite. It all ended well. Feeling was that I want more....but, it will have to wait. Mind those pounds.

A favorite for me.

by HARUMPHingtonPost

Have one person "run, don't walk" to get your name in and the rest of y'all saunter at your leisure due to usual wait (and for good reason). I am a big fan.

SUGGESTION: order 2-3 different smalls to go with various topings, take home and cut into 1 1/2" bite size pieces and arrive with or present a great appetizer plated.

Worked especially well with leftovers one evening on the fly!

nice

Went for lunch and got Lasagna For desert, I went with the chocolate cake and it was really good too. The staff is really professional and friendly and they've got lot of pastries and deserts to go when you first walk in. very impressive part of this restaurant for me was the area outside.

TO ALL THE HATERS.......

by ImHungry

I would like everyone before reading my comment to take a look at lets say..... 10 comments below mine and see if you can find a common theme whether the comment was positive or negative.............done reading??.......was there anything that was common throughout the comments? If you didn't catch it I will tell you, there is always a wait at this restaurant. For 56 years, yes, 56 years, there has been a wait on every Friday and Saturday night. What does that tell you, that no matter how many haters want to write comments on here about their negative opinion on this restaurant, people continue to pack the house every single weekend. So all you people who felt the need to trash the food and service, just know that long after you're gone, this restaurant will still be around, busy as ever, serving the thousands of people with its great food and friendly service. And for anyone who has not been to Casa Bianca yet, don't listen to anyone trying to tell you this place is not great. Come down and try it for yourself. However, bring the smallest car you have, parking is tough.
