Vintage soda pop and old timey candy heaven.Grab a cola made with real sugar and an O’Henry. Italian deli in the back serves OK sandwiches.

If you're looking for a place with the weirdest most insecure sodas in LA, Galco's is your place. The perfect shop to get lost in for a few hours. Plus: the owner can tell you the history about literally every single bottle of soda in his shop.
A blast from your childhood past ...
I have to agree with rachel h., Galco's has some very tasty sandwiches. I usually go for a regular or footlong Blockbuster. Since I grew up in the hood, I've been doing this for over 20 years. Well before Huell Howser, Food Network and the rest of the country discovered the now Soda Pop Stop. In addition to Soda Pop, they have a huge selection of candy. In all, Galco's has good eats and the soda and candies they offer will take you way back to your childhood.
One piece of advice, the sandwiches and candies are a good deal, but the sodas will run you $1.50 - 3 a pop.
Sweet-Teeth and Beer Lover Come Together. This place has all the candy and soda you remember loving as a kid. I'm not much of a sweet-tooth type, but I do like me beer. Their selection is out of this world and you can mix and match to form your own six pack. Check out all the local NELA hotspots on my site at www.yorkblvd
Soda Heaven. The owner, John, is so great with helping customers find just the right soda to try. If you're a first timer here, be careful. You could spend way more than you want. The choices are so many and so enticing that you can't help yourself from picking a bottle of every type of ginger ale...or grape...or strawberry...or my favorite, black cherry. We always have part of a case of the Mint Julep mixer at home. It works better on an upset tummy than 7up. If you're not a fanatic of ginger beer...beware of the Blenheim's. Some of their varieties should have warning labels. :-)
Landmark Highland Park grocery offers deli sandwiches, retro candies and a massive collection of soda pop..
In Short
The counter in back serves sandwiches, luncheon meats and cheeses by the pound. But the better part of this family-owned Italian grocery has been transformed into a bubbly beverage specialty shop, with more than 400 varieties of carbonated drinks. Regional favorites such as Moxie and Faygo share space with exotic flavors like Jamaican Kola Champagne, spicy ginger ales, Day-Glo fruit drinks, old-fashioned cream sodas--even imported Coke. Everything is available by bottle, six-pack or case.
awe-some.
they've a Huge deli counter.
hundreds of beers & many hundreds of soda's.
Get your soda pop here. Galco's is a hidden gem. They stock over 200 kinds of soda. Regional stuff you can't get anywhere else: Boylan's, Red Rock Cola (older than Coke), real Dr. Wells and Mr. Pibb, and Hires in bottles. Plus stuff you've never heard of: Kentucky Nip and Cheerwine. The owner loves to talk soda and he really knows how to recommend the right things. Stock up for a party, you'll be glad you did!
