Awesome Place. I took my girlfriend to this place on Saturday night and couldn't be happier. First of all they had an awesome band playing in the bar. I had a Cajun Ribeye that was cooked perfectly and my girlfriend had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were perfect. I had a glass of Johnny Walker Double Black which I have never even heard of and it was spectacular. Just wish I knew where to get a bottle.
I love this place!.
First of all, Bliss 525 is in a super cool neighborhood of Long Beach. Pine Street is closeby so there is alot going on, yet its just far enough away to keep its posh and trendy, casual but elegant vibe going on.
I love the bar! Bliss 525 has live music almost nightly and the bands are great! Some nights are blues, some are jazz, some are rock n roll and I think there is even an 80's band that plays sometimes. OMG!
The food is California comfort-ish. I usually have the Bourbon Chicken, I have since they opened, its my favorite dish with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.
Oh, and a friend of mine recently got married at Bliss525. They have like 7000 square feet of space and its NICE, upstairs and down with two patios and a private conference room. Way more than enough space for a wedding and all of the events around it including the ceremony and reception. Plus they took care of the food, drinks, photos. It was really cool.
I think they have a dog patio too. Or, it might have just dreamed that, or it could have been the martinis and my imagination. Ha!
Valentines Day. On any holiday or weekend when there is a lot going on in Long Beach you expect a long wait, but I was extremely disappointed with our 2 hour wait at BISS 525. Although the food was excellent and the bartender great I have to say the host needs to be replaced. We were 10 minutes late for our 9 pm reservation because it was hard to find parking. The host asked us to wait in the bar area and I was happy to wait in the bar especially since the live jazz band was awesome. I went to check on our reservations after noticing several couples were being seated before my date and I. When I walked up to the hostess area I was horrified when I over heard the host tell another hostess that he gave our reservations to someone else because that party showed up on time. Our reservations was at 9 pm and the anothe couple had a 10 pm reservation and it was now 10:30 pm. We were told by the host that we could leave and go some where else which I thought was mean since the host knew that 10 pm was the cutoff time for Valentines dinner anywhere else. After two more couples were being seated before us I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came and spoke to us. She finally sat us upstairs which had plenty of open seats when we arrived at 9:10 pm. She gave us a 10/% off coupon which I felt was a slap in the face considering all we wanted was to be treated with the same courtesy everyone else was being treated to. Instead of a coupon they should have seated us before the people who had reservations after our 9pm reservations. By the time we sat down to order, it was going on 11 pm. and they were out of several items. I could not believe the smugged look the manager had on her face the entire time she spoke to us. The host and management at BLISS 525 need training in customer service, diversity and ethical treatment classes.
