Despite its Hollywood connections, this franchise's focus is on pumping iron, not newfangled razzle-dazzle.. In Short
The Terminator and the Incredible Hulk (aka Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno) lifted weights at the gym's Venice, California, flagship years ago, but even today, customers frequenting charter locations are bound to encounter serious muscle. Take note: The boys with bulging biceps are the mascots, not the majority. Gold's generally offers Spinning, aerobics and kickboxing classes, yet weight-training remains the core of the program. Dumbbells and barbells, not spa-like amenities, are the attractions that draw the beef-heads in droves.

Golds has Ringworm. I've been going to Golds Gym in Venice, the Mecca, for about a year. Its great for people who like to socialize, do steroids, or gawk at the freak show that is put on every day.

The staff is unprofessional and makes moves on my girl friend. The equipment is old and dirty; my girl friend just got ringworm from using the equipment. The bathrooms are usually dirty and smelly.

All in all its a good place if your a bodybuilder, but I would recommend something else.

For Serious Gym Fanatics. Gold's Gym in by far the best gym I've ever stepped foot into. It is filled with a huge variety of weight machines; often more than one of the same machine can be found in any of the three separate areas. It has a wide variety of cardio machines as well and if that bores you, there are many fun classes to choose from.

The first time I walked into the gym I was a bit intimidated because of all the options, but now I have all my favorites and when I'm up to try something new there's plenty to choose from. I even had one of the trainers give me a body fat analysis one day. (They do it for free for members!)

There are a lot of friendly faces and buff bods at this gym. I've made several friends myself and they help to push me to my goals and are always sharing tips. No matter what shape you're in, this gym is amazing. Either you're working on a goal and this gym will really help motivate you, or your maintaining a lifestyle in which case this gym will reinforce your healthy lifestyle and there are many options you can choose from to always mix things up!!!
