Editorial Review for Grimaldi's Pizzeria – by Dan McAlvanah
The Scene
The vibe is thoroughly relaxed, perfect for a lazy Sunday evening, ingenious for a first or second date. Checkerboard-print tablecloths drape the tables, pictures of Pavarotti, Sinatra and Brando cover the walls and, nine times out of 10, it's either the voice of Old Blue Eyes or the Italian tenor that emanates from the jukebox. Even if you're not Italian, you feel like family.
The Food
Grimaldi's crust is thin and crisp, thickly redolent of smoke and char; the sauce is savory, full of chunks of fresh tomato and warming flashes of herb; the toppings are wide-ranging, from brilliant bits of fresh sausage to strips of house-roasted red peppers; and the homemade mozzarella, which is dropped in small gobs on the sauce, is the perfect final touch.

Rule #1 when in NYC, walk the Brooklyn Bridge!! Rule #1 when you get to Brooklyn, GO TO GRIMALDI'S PIZZERIA!!!!! When we were walking on Fulton Street, we didn't even realized that we were passing Grimaldi's, because we were too busy staring at the Manhattan skyline. We walked down to the river, then back up and saw a huge line. We debated over whether we should stand in line or not. We said "what the heck" and did it anyway. By the time I had turned around, after about five minutes, the line was clear around the corner. Here's where it's interesting. The guy that was seating everyone, had it down to a "science". We were seated in 15 minutes. We thought we might be rushed, but we weren't. Fun tip: go to the bathroom. Even if you don't have to "go", act like you have to. You have to walk right by (or stand, if someone is in there) the pizza chefs. It's so interesting watching how they make the pizzas! They too, have it down to a science. The food is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I are such pizza critics!! We loved this place more than any pizza we've had here.
Pros: Best Pizza...not just in NYC, but EVERYWHERE!

Grimaldi's pizza is awesome! Be prepared to wait on line, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Although the wait is a drag and the place is small and cramped it is well worth it.
Pros: Tastey Pizza, nice view of seaport
Cons: No parking, small/cramped seating, line
