outstanding sunday brunch, best prime rib, usually good service, great place, unique setting, huge facility, big eater
Horrible Service, mediocre Food. I went to the Proud Bird for a Father's Day brunch, yesterday. Absolutely horrid service. I had to ask no less than five times for a refill of water and 3 times for coffee. The "hot" food was cold and stale. The "cold" food was room temp. Everything was flavorless. When we asked for jam and butter for our bread items, the server never came back. Literally, we never saw him again for the remainder of our meal. They were very slow to clear our empty plates off our tables. I can't believe we paid $33 a person for mediocre food and bad service. I will never go there again. Please save your money and go some place else.
Great Atmosphere - Good Food.
Not a red neck but they need to hire more than Latins due to language barrier mainly. We ate the buffet but got in at the end and it was lacking in quality and quality.
The waiter really did not want to deal with our eleven person party. They were a bit short handed even when we called ahead. The waiter nearly fell over himself to get us to eat the buffet.
Don't let these little things stop you from eating here. They have several vintage aircraft around the place and pictures covering the walls about lax and air flight in the LA area among other things that makes this place a museum in itself.
Best prime rib in town !!. One of the real values for the quality and service. The ambience is 1940's air show with WWII planes, views of LAX plane arrivals, and 40,s music and news. The prime rib is the best in town and the sizzling steak is great. Very seldom crouded for dinned. The service is usually good but spotty on occassion. Ample free parking. The facilities are mainly used for weddings , meeting, etc. so the resturant is not utilized as much as would be expected given the quality and setting.
Worth your money. The buffet was great! I went there for brunch and they had all the food you could imagine! It's worth your while if you're a big eater. It's also a great place to take pictures.
