What People Are Saying About LAX

Despite being the third busiest airport in the world, LAX is fairly easy to navigate. Laid out in a giant U-shape, it houses some 80 different airlines in eight domestic terminals, with the sleek Bradley International Terminal nestled in the bend. The one-way, lower-level roadway through the U-shaped area is for arrivals; departures are on the upper route. Security concerns permitting, some airlines offer curbside check-in, and parking is available in on- and off-site lots.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- All major rental car companies serve LAX.
- The Extras:
- Each terminal has a taxi stop, where you'll get a sheet of standard fares. Count on at least a 30-45 minute ride to downtown, Hollywood or Santa Monica.

Could be much worse

Considering this is one of the busiest airports in the country, I?m surprised at how few problems I?ve had at LAX. It?s pretty easy to figure out the loop around the airport coming to drop off or pick up friends, and traffic moves through at a pretty steady rate. When I?m flying out myself, I think they do a good job getting people through security in a timely manner. Plus, I like that all the airlines have their own terminals. This airport definitely isn?t as unorganized as other ones I?ve been through, namely Dulles International outside of Washington D.C.
My #2 airport in the US

The Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX for short, is my second favorite airport in the country. I love the U-shaped approach lanes with the skip to Terminal 7 for the hurried. Parking nearby is convenient. And the lines always seem to be short and move fast as compared to other airports. The terminals are a little on the drab side but spacious and clean. Baggage claim is close to the plane exits. All in all, its easy to get IN, get OUT. That's why I like it.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

THE EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE, NON-HELPFUL..................THE SECURITY ASKS YOU TO TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES, THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS MOP AND CLEAN THE TILED FLOOR. VERY DISGUSTING FLOORS.IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PASS THROUGH LAX I ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT. THE EMPLOYEES LIKE TO PLAY AROUND, WHEN YOU ARE ON STAND BY THEY WILL ARGUE WITH ONE ANOTHER ON WHO WILL GIVE THE SEATING SO THAT THE OTHER WILL NOT HAVE TO DO THE PAPERWORK!
Not that bad

I don't understand the stigma LAX has. I've found parking easily, and made it through security in 20 minutes on non-rush times. I think it makes sense not to expect decent or timely service when the place is packed. I just try to time my flights either extremely early or extremely late and it's perfect tolerable.
Parking nearby is terrible

Be aware that about the parking options advertised through the internet. LAX Park Place offers cheap rates but does not disclose before you get there that you *ALWAYS* have to leave the key. Of course, with a flight leaving in 2 hours you have very few options and have to leave the keys with them. This was a surprise to all the customers with a reservation the day I left my car. The place does not look at all as the photos they have in the web. The personnel is also very rude and threatening. In summary, one of my worst experiences
