This restaurant's first roadside chicken stand opened up in Guasave, Mexico in 1975. A family-inspired recipe of chicken marinated in herbs, spices and citrus juices was an overnight success and the Mexican chain opened its first American location in Los Angeles in 1980. Ever since, customers have been devouring the house specialty--zesty flame-grilled chicken served with tortillas and fresh salsa. Other menu options include pollo bowls (rice and chicken), salads and quesadillas.

Better than KFC. I've eaten at this particular location probably two or three times but now that I no longer eat chicken, it's not an option. It was more of a stop so that I could walk next door to Mashti Malone's ice cream -- just beware of the rude, overbearing security guards who watch this parking lot like a hawk.
