Editorial Review for Louise's Trattoria – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
This SoCal mini-chain uses blond-wood tables, cheery primary-colored details and piped-in hits from Sinatra to Armstrong to bring new meaning to the phrase "happy meal." Families and low-key diners are endlessly plied with herb-encrusted focaccia and olive oil. Wood-fired pizzas are topped with California-style ingredients (bean sprouts, Asiago cheese). Other Americanized Italian fare includes lunchtime favorites like finely chopped salads and dinner entrees such as grilled salmon with artichoke relish and a slate of seasonal pasta dishes.

I've been to two locations, dining in Brentwood and taking out in Studio City. Not sure if it's because the food is being eaten right after it's cooked or the ambience or the location, but there is a big difference eating in at the Brentwood location. It tasted a lot better, not to say the other tasted bad but it was mediocre at best. Go to the Brentwood, order anything, and you'll be sure to get fresh ingredients in an amazing meal. The restaurant has a nice homey feeling, is a bit small, but I never have trouble finding parking at night.

Pros: Fresh Ingredients, Quaint Brentwood Location & Parking

Cons: Take Out Tastes Different

Okay guys, if you want to eat out of a gargabe can, then this is the place to go! I went here back in 1991 and it was slightly better for the pizza, but now..I finally went back.. since my friends wanted to go, but it's not the same at all! When we arrived here, it was too busy and the waitress made us sit next to a "STOP" sign right near the street corner..I mean, that is pretty pathetic! We were going to leave ...then the manager reassured us, that she would take care of us for the inconvenience and delay. So after the manager made us feel somewhat okay about staying, the whole experience went down hill after that. We ordered our food and then we barely got our drinks , like 30 million minutes later and I ordered the lasagna, my husbad ordered a pasta dish and our two friends ordered some terrible sandwiches that looked like someone sat on them..so it was pretty terrible. The minute I tasted my previously "FROZEN" lasagna, I swear it was like eating a sad dorm room dinner, that someone tried to microwave, but while microwaving, the power went out and they ate it anyway..well..that's what it was like! But NO..NO! Not me..I told the manager that my lasagna wasn't fresh, it was frozen and tasted like they opened up a box of 'Stouffer's" or something. So after telling the waitress and the manager how bad our seating, experience and food was, the 30 minute wait on drinks and smelling exhaust fumes, all they did was give us some stupid "Come back again" coupons! Umm..no...those were recycled into note paper and I would highly reccommend that if you happen to pass by this place, go to a classy place that knows how to do things right. IF you ask me, this place is overrated and way to expensive for the quality and atmosphere. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: NO COMMENT

Cons: OVER PRICED, TERRIBLE SERVICE,TERRIBLE FOOD
