Overprocessed and Overpriced. I have been extremely unhappy with the experience I had here. I was looking forward to using this salon, having seen so many great reviews. When I had my first visit the owner, Mati, was very personable but I had been told over the phone the prices varied from 1500 to 2500. Guess which end mine was at? I was told it would cost 2600. because the wig I wanted (shoulder length curly dark hair) had to be ordered special. I'm not rich but I figured given the reviews, I might just get what I paid for and have a long term quality wig. I let them know I would be in town for only 8 weeks and they assured me that wouldn't be a problem.

I put down a 500 dollar deposit and had to call repeatedly when 7 weeks were upon me. The owner wouldn't take my call, finally on one of my last days in town they called me annoyed and said "If you want to see the owner you must be here by 5 today" It was already noon. I canceled an appointment made it and wound up waiting for the owner for half an hour anyway while the staff acted very put out.

All of the afore mentioned is not anything I wouldn't overlook for a good wig. It turns out the wig I waited so long for was mostly sewn in layers that don't even take too long. Only the scalp was as promised. I had said I wanted the hair even all over the head. I thought it would be like the one I came in with and told them I liked (and paid less for). NO way this was worth 2600 dollars. You can see lumps where the seams are and when the hair moves apart from wind or just brushing, you see the cap weave! Very fake. The worst part of the entire thing is the hair was so overprocessed it is SO thin. Even though there is an abundance of it, it's so thin it is impossible to keep from knotting up. If I had paid a few hundred for this it wouldn't be so bad but I feel very robbed to be walking around in a wig that only looked good the day I walked out of the salon (and I know how to care for my hair). It's not a great idea to get dark curly hair on a wig because they can be overprocessed. I also said I would rather go lighter than get a dark wig that would turn red. Guess who is now getting called ginger. face palm. never again

Wig, Hair, Hair extensions, Salon. I have never been so pleased with my human hair wigs as with the Fuzzy Navel in Los Angeles. Mati has magic hands and is the most patient person on the planet. Her crew are friendly and so willing to make every patron happy. She sells super quality and long-lasting wigs that look so amazing, you literally walk out of the salon prettier than you walked in. I am recommending Mati for all your wig and hair needs. She also does wonderful extensions and weddings. Can't speak highly enough about the Fuzzy Navel. Not a stuffy place, but 100% excellent service and quality pieces.

Best Hair EVER. The personal service and commitment from the owner, Matti, makes the experience 1 million times more enjoyable than a stuffy beverly hills salon. The quality is exceptional, my hair color has never been better than when Matti has done it. I can't rave enough about the amazing job, and every time its impecable. She will not let you leave if your in the slightest way unhappy with your hair. Matti's good name and reputation lies in the hair she lets walk out of her salon and she won't do it unless SHE is satisfied too. Her wigs and extensions are AMAZING. The greatest quality hair I have ever touched, it feels as if it's your own and what's better LOOKS like it! No one will know it's not yours!!! She has an incredible knack for color and style and she comes up with the most brilliant and innovative color schemes I have ever seen. I used to go to a Beverly HIlls $700/vist salon and now I stick with Fuzzy Navel because the quality and dedication is so much better here! It's not a factory and I love the perosnality of the place!

Highly highly recoomend this place to anyone, especially those looking to amp their look with extensions or a wig made of the finest European Hair!! Matti and her crew will dye the extensions to match your hair perfectly and she's not above doing crazy colors if you're into it. The customer always leaves this warm and enviting place happy and excited for the next round!!!

The Hair Salon of Melrose. The first time I went there I thought 'oh just another hair salon' but I was in for a real treat,They had great

service, and even helped me find a conditioner thats fit for my hair. Many people are probably thinking that this place is a place that makes you go crazy about the prices, but their prices are reasonable (to be true, but they are) and their service is great.

Haircuts and chitchats. I first discovered this place because the name intrigued me, and I return because I've never had a better haircut. The owner and her mother banter about gambling in Vegas, who's marrying whom and the general state of the world -- while eating takeout food and setting dos. The speciality service here is wig-making; it's THE place to go if you're a cool, young Orthodox Jew who needs a piece. But that should in no way scare off those of us with less fervent religious beliefs and hair attached to our heads. Believe it or not, this place is the best in town -- reasonable prices, too, and no three-week wait for an appointment.
