Too much good stuff! – I came here to buy some headphones for my son. He wants to be a DJ, so I came here with him on my day off to take a look around.
BAD IDEA. since they basically have everything he's ever wanted...He was happy at the end but my wallet was not. The owners and staff of the store were very helpful and helped us find exactly what I needed.
Very interesting store to see in the area, never seen it before but the owner told me they've been there for 30 years so that's always nice to hear.
for the repair services, prices are more than fair – The only reason I came to this place over Guitar Center, was because there are a lot of reviews online that make this place seem to be the place to go for audio equipment repair. I was semi-hesitant due to concerns about price, but boy was I wrong. The owner Joni, let me know that they could repair my speakers for a very reasonable price of $69 which I considered a steal. Well, what do you know? Three days later, my speaker was in working condition with no wonky sounds coming out in place of mids.
Can't thank these guys enough, would easily recommend them to my friends in the future.
theres no place like it – As far as small businesses go, there's pretty much none like Quality Electronics. Despite being a "small" business they have one of the most all-inclusive inventories I've ever seen from speakers, vinyls, controllers, styluses, cartridges, turntables, interfaces, receivers and literally any other essential piece of audio equipment. And for the most part, that's pretty surprising when you consider turntable lab nearby that doesn't nearly have the amount of products inside.
It's a serious wonder why this place went undiscovered by myself for a few years, they claim they've been their close to 30 years and I can definitely see why.
Great Great Store – Hey first off big shout out to Joni for giving me a crazy good deal on the DDJ-S1 which just came out. So the story basically goes, I'm a regular here--always just coming and hanging out; and Joni gave me a call when the new Pioneer digital serato controller came out, because he knows i've been waiting on it for weeks.
Anyway--I come to the store expecting to haggle, and Joni gave me a great little discount off of the retail price. A friendly phone call, and an awesome discount. seriously, these guys might be a small business but i love them to death.
Awesome store for a lot of things – Listen, you can't hate on a store like this. Yes its a small business, but these guys have just about EVERYTHING. The dude in the front Yoni encouraged me to come online and write a review if I was pleased with the store and service I got so sure enough here I am. I actually came here this morning when they called me to inform me they had a VERY limited number of DJM-900's at their store. I drove there as soon as they opened and picked it up. Couldn't be more happy with the unit, but they actually called me to tell me they had it which is something Guitar Center is just not gonna do.
So bravo to these guys, love this store--will continue to frequent long as im in the 310.
Could use more money when coming here. – I may just love everything in this store. an eccelectic mix of gear and a huge collection of old unsorted vinyls (the hidden gems are here!)...
The only thing I can't deal with is the amount of money I spend whenever I come here. I always get my money's worth, the prices are average and fair; but there's just TOO much stuff in here. I haven't been coming here often, but I already consider myself a regular, and Yoni and the guys here treat me like family--so I can't hate. Will continue to shop here!
Awesome Store, Okay Prices... – I spin all over this town, sometimes 2 gigs a night. I need to buy a lot of stuff quite often. From lost cables, broken headphones, broken styluses, etc...being a DJ is not cheap. But that's why I come to Quality Electronics.
First off--this place is not a Guitar Center, don't expect that. What you can expect though is a healthy alternative with a much wider selection of products when it comes to DJ gear. I mean, they have every type of replacement stylus and cartridge available...which is something Guitar Center CANNOT say.
Another thing I come here for are the repairs. As long as you're firm about a price when you leave and drop off your stuff--you'll be okay. They charge a good amount for repairs, but there's probably no other place in LA you can go get ANY audio equipment fixed. And when I say any, I really mean it. I brought in a vintage Sansui Audio Mixer, that the tech was able to bring back to life--sometime everyone else told me was unfixable.
Technics repair experts for sure. – I've needed someone who could repair my technics for a long time now. I almost gave up on repairing my trust MK5's, until my DJ friend told me about this place. First off--this is a mom and pop shop through and through, so you must approach it as one.
Yes they may provide turntable repair, which not a lot of stores do; but you still need to haggle with these guys to get the best price. But as long as you do that--you'll be taken care of. Their technician seems like he knows everything possible about technics repair and he had my MK5's up and running like new in only a DAY!
I paid a little extra to have same day service, but it was worth it. If I ever need technics repair again, I'll be back!
decent job on my turntables...fair prices – I came here because work is nearby, but my turntables were seriously screwed up. I've beaten my technics up quite well since I've gotten them and the list of problems with them after two years is pretty long.
From odd songs to horrible tracking and grounding that definitely needed replacing. I knew I needed to either get new tables or get them fixed.
Anyway, I signed up for a newsletter from these folks on their website; and then I got an offer via newsletter for a turntable tune-up. Obviously not all my problems were covered in the tune up, which was fine with me. Either way...got my tech's back working like new, I did pay a pretty penny--but my tables were pretty screwed up so it was a fair trade.
