In Short – The Melrose branch of this venerable vinyl dealer was ground zero for the punk, Goth and industrial scenes back in the day. You can still find Bauhaus and Subhumans shirts and LPs here, but many of the bins are filled with permutations on dance music. UK hard house, NRG, trance, techno and electronica are all well represented. The staff is knowledgeable and not too snotty. Ask away, as long as you're looking for something fairly obscure.

A sad slide for a once proud store

This store just minutes from the best (Amoeba) was at one time the epicenter for DJ 12's and import LP's but times have definitely changed. The owner is OFTEN very late to open the place up and OFTEN closes up shop at the most bizarre times of day (like in the middle of said day). Vinyl is not current but prices are still as high as they were when they arrived at the shop years ago. Organization is poor to put it nicely; don't bother, simply roll to Amoeba for THE record store, period.
