Irv's Burgers on Historic Route 66 has been in business for over 50 years. The current owners bought the place probable 20 years ago? Kept the same cook! Nice people fair prices!

Best in West Hollywood. Not much to say except that they do all the basics well. As a bonus, it was featured in the gatefold of a mid-seventies Linda Rondstadt album. I had assumed that it was a stage set and was flabbergasted to find the genuine article when I moved to LA

ONLY 2nd fiddle to In N' Out. As the headline states, there's no better burger in Hollywood, esp. for the price. I got a double cheeseburger and fries for under $8.00. The burger was relatively larger than a Double-Double. It was juicy and very flavorful with all the fixings. The fries were very good also. Had some sort of seasoned salt. Nice and crispy. The atmosphere was welcoming. There's a small outdoor patio which is really cool esp. right now in the summertime. The service was awesome. Very nice Asian lady. Extremely friendly and courteous. As I said before, this is only 2nd to In N' Out, which could arguably be the greatest burger in the universe. But Irv's is great in its own humble way. Will definitely be going back again and again and again and again and again... You get the point...

Best burgers in Los Angeles. Definitely the best burgers in Los Angeles - and consistently good too!

Just a little correction to lanasmommy's post (08/31/2008): It wasn't the city that wanted to tear it down to build something bigger, it was the landlord (Irv's leases). The neighborhood revolt convinced the city to step in and declare the stand a cultural landmark.

The Best Little Hamburger Stand in LA County!!!. Irv's is a no frills hamburger stand, built many years ago. The city of WEHO was going to tear it down at some point so that a chain could move in and the neighborhood protested and petitioned to keep this land-mark in place. It is not pretty HOWEVER the hamburgers are simply amazing. This is a very friendly, neighborhood stand, the employees know you when you arrive and most time have your order memorized. They even draw smiley faces on the bags. ;) The price is absolutely a bargain and the burgers are fantastic. The fries are also awesome and well worth the trip. They are typically open M-Sat and close at 7 SHARP. Get there before 7 and you will NOT be disappointed. HIGHLY recommend this hamburger stand ... a real gem.

Laughter, Smiles, and Delicious Burgers. I have never before been treated with such joy and enthusiasm as I have at Irv's Burgers. Now it may just be the welcoming drawing of my fuax navy uniform shirt that arrived on my plate with my burger, or the continual check in and wide eyed laughter coming from the kitchen, staffed by some of the nicest folks in LA, or it could be the massive cup of coke that was deposited next to my fries, but I have to say, once and for all that this is EXACTLY how a burger should taste. It is how a burger appears in dreams to dieters. It is the image you conjure before saying to a friend, "I really feel like a hamburger...what does that mean?" It means you should stop by Irv's shaded patio and sit down with the paper, or a friend and treat yourself to a half hour of bliss. Though the meters only last 20 minutes, there is no need to rush something so nice and so good.

Very special. Maybe you can get a better burger somewhere else (but probably not). Maybe there's a cheaper burger. Maybe you don't even eat red meat.

Maybe, but you should still make the trip.

The ambiance and customer service make Irv's a standout that's now a designated Route 66 landmark. Sonia, Sean, and Mama run this stand like it's their home kitchen. They're friendly; they're gossipy; they're a lot of fun. Every order comes with personalized drawings on each plate/doggie bag.

A number one, with bacon, fries, and a delicious coke. Perfect.

Delicious Burgers- Charming Staff. I moved up the street from Irv's a few months ago and heard from neighbors that I HAD to try their burgers. Went there for the first time recently and loved it! Not only were my burger and fries absolutely delicious, but Sonia and the staff were incredible friendly and funny. She drew a picture of me on my take-out bag, and I noticed that she greeted most customers by first name the second they walked up to the window to order. Irv's has a great neighborhood feel and is a cute, colorful burger joint with tons of character and history. Check it out!
