Citysearch Editorial Review. This is a fun bistro to take in the Melrose scene, lounge over a lazy breakfast, or stop for coffee any time of day. Old World charm meets a relaxed boho vibe with cafe tables, worn wooden fixtures and local art hung on the walls, while the sidewalk is great for people-watching. A slew of local regulars, rockers, European tourists and even a few celebs enjoy all-day breakfasts (most are under $10) that range from stuffed French toast and huevos rancheros to luxe plates of Russian Scrambled (smoked salmon, red onions, brie and black caviar) or Lobster Benedict. A slew of other bistro fare is also featured, like nicoise or warm mushroom and goat cheese salads, shrimp pasta, Angus burgers and chicken kebobs.

One of the best Breakfasts Ever. My boyfriend and I are on a mission to find the best eggs in Los Angeles. Of all the places we've been so far, Vienna Cafe is winning, hands down. They have a large, sophisticated selection and if your veg/vegan, the VeggieX is one of the best veggie omelets i've ever eaten. The staff is consistently extremely friendly and helpful. Probably my favorite aspect of the Vienna Cafe experience is the fact that they give you a free loaf of delicious, gourmet bread with your check. Vienna Cafe is well worth the moderate price.

Great place for Breakfast or Lunch. Vienna Cafe on Melrose is a great place for lunch. It is conveniently located near all the best stores so you can just walk there after shopping. Ever since I found this place, its the only place I go for lunch on Melrose. They are above average in all the elements that a restaurant needs to have. Food, Service, Ambience, and Prices.

I always order the Rosemary Garlic Chicken with a Mango Passion Smoothie which are both delicious.

Vienna Cafe definitely deserves 5 Stars and I can't wait to take my friends there!

Do NOT miss this place!. This place IS the HOLLYWOOD DINING EXPERIENCE! Great food, great service, incredible atmosphere and really desent prices! I've never been there (and I've been many times) when the owner wasn't there. I live in Florida and get out to LA 3 or 4 times a year and no matter my business in CA, I wouldn't even consider not eating a couple of my meals at Vienna!

Best breakfast on Melrose!. My favorite spot in Hollywood for breakfast. The lobster eggs benedict is amazing and reasonably priced.

The owner seems to be there on a regular basis and every once in a wile, they'll send you on your way with a loaf of bread from their bakery. GREAT SPOT!!!

Best bread dip (the bread was good too).. Driving down Melrose, my wife and I were looking for a place that looked out onto the street scene and wouldn't break the bank. The orange walls, black awnings and busy tables of the Vienna Cafe caught my attention. The cafe didn't disappoint-from the attentive waiter to the good food. The fresh baked bread was very good, but the olive oil/parmesan/raisin/tomato dip was awesome. My mango/passionfruit smoothie was good, as was the coffee. My wife's tuna sandwich was very good coming with alfalfa sprouts, but my beef stroganoff sandwich was only alright. My issue with my sandwich was that it was a wet sandwich, meaning that if I tried to pick it up and eat it, it'd be a mess. I had to use a fork and knife. I was looking forward to a sandwich I could pick up and bite into. It was good, just not what I was expecting. To finish off the meal, every diner receives a free cupcake - a great personal touch. I felt the $27 bill (pre tip) was a very good price for what we received.

Melrose breakfast and lunch at it's best.. This place has the best in several categories that really count: the owner is present and involved and knows what he's doing, the food is outstanding, and the value is where it should be. The Vienna has grown over the years, mostly supported by the Melrose phenomenon, but has consistently had great coffee, breakfast, and lunch. i am always willing to wait for a seat to eat there. The bread alone is a religious experience. Fresh made right there at the bakery, and served with olive oil and fresh parmesan, wow. Breakfast is always fulfilling, fruit is seasonal and fresh, coffee always refilled. The staff is capable, although used to be more um, female... Count on the owner stopping by to make sure everything is ok. And he's really sincere about that. Parking can be a problem, so pay attention to signs and meters.

good everything. the owner is friendly & generous, the neighborhood serves as a great backdrop for an eclectic place such as this, and the food is just great. from salads to omelettes to desserts, this place has good everything (except for parking, b/c it's in 'bohemian' melrose). i recommend sitting outside to people-watch.

Cozy breakfast spot. Always love a place with a European flair and this place mixes that with L.A. casual in a perfect way. Love the pretzel rolls, too. Service is maybe a bit too casual at times, but always friendly. The food is always good and enjoy the unique dishes. Only complaint is the huge cups of coffee get cold quickly and the servers are very slow with refills. Love the open air, relaxed atmosphere here and go back quite often.

Great breakfast and lunch. I've been to Vienna Cafe quite a few times for both breakfast and lunch. The food is great and the service is wonderful. The staff takes the time to get to know me so even when I'm dining alone I'm amongst friends.

I can recommend the Euro Eggs benedict for breakfast, but you had better be hungry because they give you quite a large portion at a great price. Also try the Brioche french toast...yummmmm....I'm getting fat just thinking about it.
