In Short
In this subterranean refuge, a luxurious tapestry-bedecked room buzzes with contented folks enjoying healthy, inventive Italian fare. Glittering starlets and industry hot shots lounge beneath folk-art paintings and hanging lamps that emit a subdued light to ensure everyone looks gorgeous. Salads and soups rotate, reflecting seasonal specialties, but Pace's mythical California-style pizzas are the real draw; its sourdough crust narrowing to a razor thinness, studded with eclectic ingredients.

This is my favorite little gem, nestled in the Hollywood Hills. I have always had an amazing experience at this authentic Italian restaurant! The staff is pleasant, and well informed. Service is great, without being overbearing. It's romantic and cozy, and feels like a little villa in Italy. My favorite dishes are the cedar plank salmon, fresh pasta dishes, lasagna, and pizza! You can't go wrong here! To top it off, they have the most decadent desert! MMMMM. This really is a special little place to meet friends, have a date, or take family!

Unbelievably overpriced. The food is simply not tasty enough for an average of 30 bucks an entree. My fish was undercooked and just plain not delicious, and presentation was more generic than special. For that price the food really needs to be excellent. Nothing about this place makes up for it either. The crayons at the table, and nice lighting were the only positives. That said if you enjoy dining to abrasive out-dated club music, being surrounded by overly spray tanned L.A. botox types and feeling important because your porsche is parked in front, then this might be a place to try.

Pace's is a tiny whole in the wall Italian restaurant located in the heart of Laurel Canyon slightly off the beaten path. It's in the basement of an old building and though small, boasts an environment to die for. They have a decent sized patio entailed with brick, candle light, and artwork from local artists is displayed throughout. In the main dining, the very low light adds a romantic flare but at the same time is great for small intimate get together with friends. The food is all organic and comes from local farmers markets as the owner Sandy is a huge supporter of the local businesses. The lasagna and taglatelli (spelling?) are to die for and priced reasonable at $17 respectively with dishes up to $30-$35 (veal, steak, etc). They also have an amazing dessert that you have to order when you order your food because they make it to order and it takes about 45 minutes but is well worth it! They also boast a large wine selection with waiters who are great at pairing something up for you if your knowledge isn't quite up to par. Overall, amazing. Everything just comes together in a perfect intimate environment where you can go with a loved one and tune everyone out or with a small group of friends for a night to remember. Reservations are highly suggested as the place is on the smaller side and is in high demand.
