Rudest customer service EVER!. The reviews on this site are too kind. I am in disbelief that the Korean woman (who seems certifiably crazy) could actually be the owner of this establishment. I ordered a drink that tasted awful and asked for assistance. She insulted me at least 4 times and I tried to be nice and she continued to insult me. Then I said I should ask for my money back. She then said "what do you think this is a restaurant or something." If she is actually the owner, it would shock me to see this place stay in business for any length of time. She is simply awful and has no interest in keeping customers or treating customers with respect. The fact that there are so many comments regarding this woman on the site is simply not surprising. This coffee shop is currently a monopoly in this location but I give it time before her poor attitude and horrible service comes back to hurt her where it counts--in the pocketbook. Considering how clueless this woman appears to be, she probably will still not realize that she is sending all her customers to spend their money elsewhere.
Worst Coffee with Worst Manager( or Owner) EVER!.
I and my friends went to movie and had some time before movie started, so we stopped by this coffee shop.
As soon as we got in, the owner looking lady greeted us with irritated attitute and kept telling us "Only Cash!" since he closed her register. No problem. We understood.
One of us ordered latte with soymilk and it came out really aweful!
It tasted like she didn't steam the milk and put cold soymilk. And she put it incredibly small amount so I couldn't even taste even milk in it. Worst thing was... when I opened a lid the coffee was covered with ground expresso around the cup. We couldn't take it ,so asked her to make it again.
First response from her was, "Get out of the register" she yelled us. And she started yelling us harder that it was her style of expresso(full of gound expresso inside?) and she woudn't either make another one for us nor refund money. She said it was usual thing you saw those things for expresso. I never saw that much of ground expresso in any coffee. Come on. All we needed was another appropriate Soy latte or money back but all we got was screaming and yelling and threatening from her. She also kept saying there was no coffee and what she used was expresso. but isn't Expresso coffee?
For the worst part, She screamed at us. pointed her finger to the door and "GET OUT or I will call police!"
There were around 10 customers inside of small shop and she embarrased us and treated us like non-human. We left because we didn't want to see the worse thing happen, but I won't go back there and still VERY upset!
If anyone want to buy coffee before movie, please try inside of theater. They also have coffee. I can't easily get rid of this BAD experience out of my mind!
Hazelnut Muppet @#$%.
OK...true story. I walk in to an empty Buzz Coffee before a movie with my wife at the Laemmle 5. The coffee @#%$ comes in off his break. The owner sits at the counter behind me tallying her receipts for the day.
I order a medium late and he rings me up for something like $4.24. I balk at the price, and ask for a medium coffee instead. He shoots me a #@$%%* look, then rings me up for $2.54.
He then pours me a cup from a carafe marked "Hazelnut" and tops it off from a carafe marked "French Roast." The coffee is clearly cold as he warms it up with the steamer on the espresso machine. I'm confused about the concoction that he just whipped up so I smell the coffee (which reeks of Vanilla and Hazelnut) and ask him, "Is this Hazelnut coffee?" He lies to me and says its French Roast. I tell him that I just wanted a regular cup of coffee and he insists that it's French Roast..again.
I ask him if he's joking because it's clearly flavored coffee, after which chaos ensues. I tell him I'm paying $2.54 for a cup of coffee and all I want is what I ordered. The Korean owner jumps in and says that people "love Hazelnut coffee," and why it's better coffee because it's more expensive. When I tell her that all I want is a regular cup of coffee and that her coffee is double the price of Starbucks (my benchmark for over priced coffee), she starts screaming "THIS NOT STARBUCKS! THIS NOT STARBUCKS! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GAS COSTS THESE DAYS?"
I tell her that if it were Starbucks I would have been served what I ordered. The white boy coffee monkey mumbles to her about how I was being "difficult" because I changed my order. I tell him he was acting like a @#$% from the moment I walked in, after which he threatens to "kick my #@$."
These people are clearly insane. As far as I'm concerned they can keep overpriced Muppet @#%$.
LA Coffee shop. I love the owner, she is great ;-p.. cant beat the prices... you can sit there, drink espresso and look at the hot guys going in and out of Crunch...sometimes (when shes not locked up) Paris Hilton drops in for the awesome chai latte.. this joint has the highest employee turnover rate ever, so you someone fresh...
fantastic!!. great food and freindly people make this a great place to dine! i was seated promptly and served within minutes of ordering! great great great!!
Rude and cold service (served by Korean female owner) & mediocre drinks (served by the poor L.A. transplants who have to put up with their boss).
2 years ago, I came to this cafe with a friend & received icy looks from a 50ish woman who would only give me curt replies. After we sat down with 2 drinks & a pastry, I asked for parking validation. She pretended as if she never saw me & said, "Did you buy anything?! We only give validation to customers!" (My friend and I were 2 of 4 customers seated in the tiny space.) A young employee rolled his eyes behind her & vouched for us. She then trolled our table, shooting us dirty looks. Now, since I am Asian I feel I have cultural legitimacy in saying: This Korean owner doesn't like Asians.
I say this because 2 weeks ago, desperate for an iced latte, I reluctantly came back to this cafe (the nearest one). The owner gave me a cold glare as I ordered my drink. She handed me my change back, & avoided eye contact as she would not oblige a thanks. When I said thank you, she looked out towards the wall. I immediately took her for someone with anti-social behavior, that this way of treating her customers was unbiased & perhaps beyond her control. As I sat cooling away from 100-deg. heat, I watched as this woman put on all smiles as a hot Italian 25-ish couple walked in. She yelled loudly at the statuesque blond in high heels, "You are se xy! Look at you!" & made loud doting comments about them until they left. Next, a group of 4 stylishly-dressed hipster girls (early 20s) came in. The owner came to this group who were seated on the table next to mine & grabbed at a purse, yelling, "Oh my God!! Where did you get that?!" The attractive girl (another blonde) was startled & replied that she worked at BCBG & got it there. The owner continues, "Oh my God! That is the prettiest purse I have ever seen! How much does it cost?" The girls shot each other looks. I saw a pattern as I sat & observed--the owner continued to dote on several other Caucasian Hollywood beauties while giving the rude treatment to the rare & few Asians.

Absolute WORST customer Service. For this place to be in such a prime area the customer service reeks. The Owner (i assume) is rude and lies to her customers. And she continuously stalked our table after we complained. It is not the customer's problem if your register is not updated. Exchanges are very common these days. I will never visit this place again if i can help it. This place needs to be shut DOWN!
Truth be told. Yes I was there. I went to this coffee shop after a movie with a couple of friends. I ordered two coffees, and decided that I wanted to change the order from regular to small. The lady, who seemed to be the owner of the joint, told me that it was only a ten cent difference. I looked at the menu after paying and noticed that it was a forty cent difference. This upset me a little after I sat down, so I got up and confronted her about the situation. She totally denied that she lied, but I just wanted to relax with my friends so I said whatever. The older Asian women, who decided to cheat me out of 80 cents, then proceeded to come to the table that my friends and I were sitting at, to pester us about what happened. We were too through with her, but for some reason, she kept insisting that she did not cheat me. The women was like 59 with braces, and wearing Abercrombie, she was something else!
Don't Go!. First of all, all of the signs in this business are hand written, including the menu on the wall. It gives the cafe a very unprofessional appearance. Plus, I have had two really unpleasant experiences at this location. The person who appears to be the owner is very rude and appears to cheat her customers. The first time I went, I ordered something and the woman charged me more than what was listed on the menu. When I complained, she just made an excuse. Then, when I opted to give the place the benefit of the doubt, and I went back there yesterday, something similar happened to my friend. She went to the counter and ordered two regular coffees. When the woman rang up two medium coffees, my friend changed her order and asked for small coffees instead. The woman told her it was too late to change her order, and it was only a ten-cent difference. In fact, it was a 35-cent difference, and on two coffees that is 70 cents. My friend protested again, and the woman became very defensive and never changed my friend's order. I will certainly never pass through the doors of that Buzz Coffee again, and it is giving other locations a bad name.
