ambiance
100.0% positive
  1. And this is the only location where the food is this good, I have tried others and they are independently owned and not as good.
  2. Perhaps the best refried beans anywhere, this place is fantastic and cheap, if low on ambiance (as passing the homeless outside is not uncommon).

Rude waitress!

Contributor at Citysearch

The food is awsome! The chicken tacos are great and they have the food out to you super fast! The only complaint I have is the waitress. There is one waitress there who is rude every time I go in!! I'll say hello and she won't even say hello back or get up to come take my order, shell sit there chatting and ignore me! So rude. But other than that best fast Mexican food ull have in LA. It's worth the rude service!

A Diamond in the Rough

by ytboy at Citysearch

I found this "joint" by accident on a business trip in 1984. I have looked forward to returning to it as a highlight of every trip to LA ever since. Perhaps the best refried beans anywhere, this place is fantastic and cheap, if low on ambiance (as passing the homeless outside is not uncommon). And this is the only location where the food is this good, I have tried others and they are independently owned and not as good.

Try it! You won't be disappointed.

  • Pros: Best refried beans
  • Cons: The crowd out front

Can't Get Enough Of Their Burritos

by astroboylany at Citysearch

Los Tacos is absolutely amazing. Although the interior leaves a lot to be desired the food is authentic and out of this world. There is magic in their refried beans! The prices are extremely affordable and they are open 24 hours which is perfect for a hearty bite after the bars. Their burritos can be especially filling, so you may want to hold off on ordering any sides like the rice (which is phenomenal!)... Los Tacos is such a favorite of mine that I freeze their burritos and bring them to friends in NYC.

  • Pros: The most amazing Mexican Food in LA... Plus it's sooo inexpensive!
  • Cons: ambience

Great Mexican 24/7!

by t_size at Citysearch

I'll say it again, this place is open 24 hours a day, so go especially after a long night of partying. I ordered the chicken tamale and chicken enchilada combo and boy, was I in for a treat. It's a lot of food, served with a huge pile of fried beans and rice, it is very reasonably priced and served cafeteria-style. Order it, get a number, pick it up, grab a fork and plenty of napkins and, go to town. The enchilada was scrumptious, the chicken was gorgeously melted into it. Lots of interesting characters esp. late at night.
