The best apple pie! Served sizzling hot with goes caramel on the bottom and ice cream on top. The pie is buttery and wonderfully flaky.
Excellent service leads to a very happy birthday. After a last minute cancellation at another restaurant, my birthday party (25 people) moved to Jones. I was initially apprehensive at the change of plans, but the staff immediately put me at ease. They couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. We were given a few tables and overflow space at the bar, and the bartenders took exceptional care of us from beginning to end. The drinks were strong and the food delicious. All night long my friends raved about how great things were and called the cancellation a "happy accident." In addition to the food/drink, this place has great lighting (dark and cozy) cool decor, laid-back people and a respectable jukebox. I would definitely recommend this place for a party or even an intimate dinner.
Good food and strong drinks!. Excellent pizza, although I dealy miss the shrimp, leek, and goat cheese one they took off the menu a while back. The margherita, however, is to die for. The entrees are pretty solid all around, but it's just a cool hangout, and although the bartenders sometimes have a crappy attitude, at least the drinks are strong and the music loud.
Low-key Hollywood industry bar forgoes pretension for good service--and better drinks..
In Short
A social atmosphere permeates this hangout near Warner Brothers' Hollywood lot. The dining room is low-lit, with raised, intimate red-vinyl booths running around the perimeter. An elevated bar area dominated by a long banquette draws happy-hour and late-night revelers. A second bar and seating area is lit by large plate-glass windows and fills up with lunching patrons who aren't discussing screenplays or gossiping about low-level studio shenanigans.
Chill Place. I went here last weekend and it is a pretty cool place. Its a good palce to just have a chill night out with ur firends.
Best Wines List in West Hollywood. I brought some out-of-town friends into Jones last week thinking I'd show them a cool LA spot with the typical LA scene and celebrities. We actuallly saw a few celebs, but were surprised that the crowd was made up of cool down to earth people. Also, the wine list was amazing. One my friends in my party owns a wine bar in Napa and was blown away by the wine list. Besides that, the waitresses and bartenders are all totally cool and totally hot. From the moment you walk in the door, you are met with cool, nice people.
Too Many Menu Changes. I live 1 block from Jones and used to love taking my out of town friends there for dinner, as well as going there with my local friends. We could walk, and the food was excellent. In the last year they have switched chefs and have made menu changes to make the place more "italian" as they have told me. It seems they are just trying to cut costs, but who knows. They have taken my favorite things off of the menu! I no longer go there for dinner, nor do I get delivery anymore. However, it is still a cool place to hang out if you like a cool rock n roll type scene with an old school atmosphere and decor.
Good scene.. Nice, not too snobby scene. It can get loud as people fight the music with their conversations, but the music is good. The food is actually excellent, as are the bartenders. (They have coasters with a hole for your straw in them, so you can slip them on top of your drink while you go out for a smoke. Ingenious.) I didn't find the waitstaff to be quite as friendly, and I couldn't help but be insulted when the waitress carded us - we'd been carded at the door, and when I noted it, she said she knew it.
Decent. Our drinks didn't taste anything like they were supposed, weren't strong but was cheap. The bouncer was nice but one of the waitresses was rude! The environment was "okay" although I'd probably never go there again just because the place was not my style. Not a good place to meet new people if that's what you're looking for. There was no where to sit as well.
One of the best bars in L.A.. This place rocks. They have one of the best rock-n-roll jukeboxes in town. The female servers are hot and the food is great. My girl and I love their pizzas. It is cool because they serve late and the place is darkly lit. I moved here from New York a few years ago and this is one of the coolest places I have found in L.A.
Forget Clubs. It's the perfect place if you don't like going to pretentious, overpriced clubs that play nauseating electronic music. I always have a good time when I go to Jones. The rock music from the juke box is great. If you like whiskey, try their unique assortment. The food is outstanding, the drinks are usually pretty stiff. My brother likes to come with me, because there's usually a good deal of eye candy. I like to flirt with the hot bouncers.
