In Short
A well-stocked deli counter, vinyl booths and one of the best wine shops in the state greet diners. Patrons order deli staples such as matzo ball soup, chopped liver and soft, oniony potato knishes. Kugel, a house specialty, is a dense, towering block of egg noodles, cream cheese, cinnamon and raisins. The traditional deli-sandwich menu boasts endless combos, but of particular note is the thinly sliced brisket on rye.

I actually tried a Greenblatt's corned beef sandwich once and liked it. Problem is, I can't ever get the one I liked again. I don't like hot sandwiches, so I keep asking them if it's possible to get a cold corned beef, and they keep telling me they can't do that. It's pretty easy. Just don't cook it! They serve chicken salad sandwiches. Do the same thing, only replace the chicken salad with corned beef! The fact that they will hold the heat for some people, but not for me, gives me the impression they aren't very concerned about customer sevice.

As a person who makes Matzah ball soup from scratch, I am selective. I find that Jerry's and Canter's serve mushy noodles. Canter's Matzah ball was hard, and had no flavor. Greenblatt's, on the other hand, tasted really homemade. The brisket dip was nice and satisfying too. The place isn't a bargain but it tastes a step up from other delis.
