nice prices, bad condition, great location, terrible customer service, good chunk, great morphine generation jacket, cool staff

Although a bit pricey, Wasteland is the official stomping ground for vintage pieces – for both men and women. Old clothes that others think were a waste frequently turn into that one rare piece another shopper had been searching for.
Wasteland needs a business heart!.
On Christmas Eve, the studio city store evicted a local pet adoption team using the sidewalk by calling the police on them!
The group has been using this location for the past 15 years.
Wasteland needs to re-think their policy and contact the pet adoption to sponsor another event.
Pet adoption is so important. Surely there is room for everyone.
BOUNCED CHECK - NEED I SAY MORE!!!!!. Dropped off a bunch of stuff on Saturday, and was so happy to get rid of stuff. Received a check and was told that there had been illegal activity on their corporate account, but that the check could be deposited on Monday. I deposited the check and it BOUNCED! Now, I have been calling for two days. I called the store manager, the front desk, the clothing manager, etc. etc. -- not one person returned my phone call -- what a joke. I am heading there after work and someone better give me my money!!!! Talk about horrible customer service!
Great pieces to fulfill your vintage cravings!. You can spend hours in here...there is a plethora of vintage items craftily hand-picked for your viewing and buying pleasures! A wide range of vintage clothing, shoes, and JEWELRY!!
Diamond in the Rough.
The vintage items are better than the new things they try to sell (which are way overpriced and not as appealing). Great place to find cute boots (as you're own discretion of course).
Found a really high end designer bag for $35, and is definitely real. Bought it 2 years ago and it's still my favorite bag to use. Totally a diamond in the rough. Probably my best find.
It's really pure luck in what you find. Just be patient and don't expect to find what others have told you they've found. It IS a thrift store. GOOD LUCK!
ahhhh. It's a super good store and i always find amazing things but their methods of tagging items are careless. I bought two items that were in perfect condition (or so it seemed) until i got home and took the tags off. in the shirt their is a large hole in the back because for some reason they put 3 to 4 plastic things in the tag to connect it to the shirt. i worked in retail and one is more than enough. my shoes also had the snake skin pulled back and ruined in one spot because they did the same thing to them. it's a super bummer because these items came in in pristine condition. they don't even have a website to let them know that they are ruining wonderful vintage with their odd procedures. again, such a bummer, come on.
Good Selection. Always adding more items so the selection is great if you can get past the smell, location is good too...
Wasteland Staff =Snobby fashion victims.
I do believe that customer service is a big deal in the retail world, it helps with the overall shopping experience. Wasteland's (Melrose) customer service is terrible, for example, while waiting for a dressing room (by the way ALL the dressing rooms were empty and ready for customers) I was tortured to stand and wait through two employees conversation about how drunk they were the night before. I was completely ignored. Other unappealing aspects about shopping at Wasteland (Melrose) includes:
-Buyers who are not familiar with brands, $22 for a BCBG dress which retailed at $300?
$18 for Zanotti sandals that retailed at almost $400?
and everything was in great condition and from recent Spring and Summer seasons (I myself used to be a buyer for Buffalo Exchange, therefore I would NEVER sell anything in bad condition).
-Employees at this particular location are snobby and unapproachable. The Santa Monica location has a much better staff!
-The racks had very few items on them - - I understand it makes it more "shopabble", but less selection.
I will continue to shop at the Santa Monica Location.
Great Finds!.
One of the best shops on Melrose, by far! You have to be prepared to sort through a lot of stuff, but you can totally find some great things for pretty cheap! I found an amazing pair of boots for $35!
Set aside a good chunk of your Saturday afternoon for it though. But it's so worth it.
doesnt look like much. it really does not look like much from the outside, but once you go in you find so many things that you love, and the prices are awesome, totally affordable. staff can be ok for the most part, but sometimes you run into a badc apple or 2
Designer clothes for a nice price.
When I entered the joint I didn't expected to find so many gems for such reasonable prices.
Soon I realized that almost everything on the hangers had a name. Most clothes are still in
good condition and the selection is pretty large for men and for women. I use to snoop around
the cloths racks once in a while and mostly find something cute and--most important--individual
and unique.
