always super helpful staff, best comic book store, really like shopping, always ready staff, creative closet geeks, cool baby clothes, cool toys

Best venue for top quality stand up shows and live podcast tapings. Also one of only places I know where I can hug a giant Han Solo cut out.

This is my favorite comic book and collectibles store in LA. There's also a small theater and showroom in the back for nights of film, comedy, podcasting and storytelling—including the Risk! storytelling show and Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction.
I love Meltdown, been going there for years to get my comic, collectibles, and off planet graphic novels.
L.A.'s Best Comic Shop, Hands Down. Meltdown is one of the reasons why I love living in L.A. -- it's the best comic shop! A mind-boggling array of collectors toys, old and new greet you as you walk in. Walk in further to this brightly-lit, cheerful and quirky space and you'll find comics and books galore: there's mainstream superhero titles like X-Men and Teen Titans to Japanese manga books, indie comics, graphic novels, cinema/design books and much more. The staff is friendly and always ready to recommend something new and cool. A fun hangout for Hollywood creative types and closet geeks.
Meltdown Comics. The most KICK-ASS Comic book store in the WEST COAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lil' heatwave. This review is for the sparkly-new Mini-Melt location on Los Feliz. I'm pretty excited to finally have hi-quality comics within arm's reach (if you have elastic arms, I guess)...a well-chosen small-scale selection of the same choice reads, cool toys, collectibles + great baby clothes that make Meltdown such a joy.
Massive comic shop offers weird and wonderful overflow from the pop culture subconscious.. Meltdown's enormous 9,000-square-foot space allows Angelenos to peruse this emporium's vast holdings in comics, illustrated books and new and vintage pop culture toys. The clientele is more literate and less geeky than you'd expect, proving you can't judge a book by its cover. Since 1993, Meltdown has been the premier place to find comics both mainstream and obscure. The selection of European comics and graphic novels is exceptional, as is the alternative/underground department. They're also the only local distributors for the deliciously goofy Japanese toys representing '70s cartoon stars Gon and Bakabone. The traditional comic shop fare is enhanced with trading cards, lunch boxes, T-shirts, mugs, action figures and even some original art. Monthly signings bring folks like Matt Groening, Clive Barker and Mark Hamill in to meet and greet their fans.
