What People Are Saying About Necromance

In Short – Smack-dab in the middle of tourist-heavy Melrose Avenue sits this quirky boutique. As the name suggests, the decor is goth and ghoulish; concrete walls are covered with framed coffin advertisements, glass-encased insects and mounted creepy-crawlies. Staffers are friendly and accustomed to dealing with gawkers staring at the bats floating in jars and antiquated medical tools. – –
Is this a joke?

For all its grandeur, the entire facade of Necromance has been stolen from others. Everything from the music they play in the store, to the goods they sell was originated elsewhere and bastardised by the sad woman who operates this place. It really is too bad. A true vampire, but with no beauty or elegance. Just a boring goof from the South with no shame.

Its worth a visit, but you get what you pay for.

If you are interested in quantity, not quality this is the place for you! For the average person who is unfamilliar with taxidermy, curios, etc. Necromance must be a paradise. This store is covered ceiling to floor in cheap finds...every thing from antlers to charts, from sea fans to bats. On the other hand for the discerning collector its a bit of a disaster. There is nothing in here that is grade A quality. Items are cluttered, poorly cared for and often damaged. The latter is what accounts for the cheap price tags! On another note, while the employees are young, individualistic, helpful and attentive, the woman who we believe to be the owner is very tiered, rude and impatient...until you pull your wallet out. In short, we like to think of it as the "Big Lots" of natural history stores.
- Pros: cheap finds
- Cons: poor quality
It's bad

I went inside and thought hey nice little shop with some cool stuff. Then I got to the N azi paraphernalia. They had some knives with the swastikas on them and other N azi related products.. Really broke my intrest. I'm not joking about this. On Melrose still they still have N azis. Also it smelled very bad in there. I would not recommend ever going there and hopefully the place will go out of business. This place needs to go down especially being in a area that tourist frequent. It shows a really poor side of L.A. if N azis are allowed to sell there merchandise in the open. I think I'm going to go back there and just ask them why they think they can sell that stuff. It really disguts me and find it really poor that this place is running because they shoud know what there doing is a atrocity.
- Pros: Nice Location
- Cons: N azi Paraphernalia
