Tips for Sunset Car Wash

September 08, 2012

It's been a while since I've been to this car wash, and I'm glad I decided to stop by the other day. The car wash in under new ownership, which is fantastic. The owners actually care about the clients and quality of how my car was washed. All the staff was very friendly and did a great job on my car. It sparkled after they were done with it. This will definitely be my regular go to car wash now. Besides being super convenient (it's right on Sunset, so you're in and out), they did an amazing job! The owners are very nice as well and talk to the clients to get your feedback. Excited for the changes they're making. See you next week!

Avoid these guys at all costs. I used to come here and spend a few hundred dollars a month on two cars. The ownership just changed and with it went service, caring and any business sense. I left my car there for two days. Yes, I did. I have done it before. I have another car so I kept forgetting to pick it up. Just now, I went there. Someone checked and then came back and said "Your car has been towed." I was stunned. She said, "Well, I'm sorry. It's new ownership and I was not here so they towed it." I asked where. She told me City Towing. It was not City Towing, but I just found it. It'll cost me $302 to get it back. I would not spit on that car wash now. Stay away. The manager just told me it was actually towed because it was left there overnight. So they towed it the next morning when it had been there for eighteen hours. The manager just said, "Too bad." Charli is the manager. She said she does not care if I come back. Avoid her.

3 Strikes!. I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to my house and they always seem to be doing a lot of business. The first time I went the job was half assed but as I said I thought maybe it was that time or the person I got. The car was pretty dirty but they didn't bother to clean the hard to reach places or the tires.

So I went a second time thinking it would be better. Again, streaks all over the place, dirt on the underside of the car etc.

Didn't think I would go again but I wasn't sure of any other place that would steam clean/shampoo my car for under $100. So I gave it one more try. This time my car was cleaned perfectly. I guess you have to pay $70 for it to be done right. The outside could have been better but my interior was sparking. The only thing was I noticed that the device I use to play my IPOD in the car was missing. I was so happy that they finally cleaned the car well that I let it go. When I finally found it, it was broken. They had stuffed it into a bag I had in the back seat to hide the fact that they broke it.

That's the last straw for me! I won't be going back. I feel stupid for having gone a second and third time!

hit or miss... but when they miss, watch out!!!. It's been hit or miss for me, depends on who gets your car when it comes out of the wash. If they sort of care about cars, they will wipe it down gently, do a good job. If it's somebody who doesn't care, and I'm sorry if this is sexist, but it's usually the guys who might actually care, they're going to put the towels on the ground, pick it up and use it again, wipe the tire then start wiping the body again with the same towel that's been on the ground, wheels, etc. Just got back, swirls and scratches ALL OVER the place. I know the woman doesn't make a lot, and I didn't want her to get in trouble, gently explained that if you put the towels on the ground, they're going to pick up grit, and it's going to scratch the car. She wasn't being a jerk but didn't seem to care either way.

Don't Go Here. My portable gps and ipod were stolen out of the trunk of my car. My trunk was pretty messy, so clearly they had to rile through my trunk in order to steal from me! I didn't realize what happened until a few days later, so there wasn't anything I could do- but my stuff was definitely stolen there.

Furthermore, they didn't even do a good job!

i will never go back.. i stopped in last night to get my car washed. (not knowing they close at 5:30) it was 6 o'clock and i parked my car - everyone just stared and had a blank look on their face like something from "The Happening" or something. i said,"excuse me are you still open?" and this twerp leaning against a trash bin said "go home." and then continued to eat his chips or whatever he was doing. wow. needless to say, i'll never go back. (even though i said it twice in this review)

Horrible Experience. I took my car here and will never go back. First they were up selling like crazy and tried to get me to pay $90 - then said "for you - $39." Yeah right. The attendants were rude, the cashier was miserable. My car went through the tunnel and was parked to be cleaned and waxed. It was sitting for 30 minutes with out anyone touching it. Twice I kindly asked if anyone was going to work on my car. The soap had dried and left spots, and no one was responding to me. Finally, they ran it through the tunnel again - but had to wait another 20 minutes for it to go through. Then it sat AGAIN before the manager yelled at the attendants to clean and wax. I was so upset that I had been in a car wash parking lot for an hour and a half - for something that should have taken 20 minutes. I was not offered any sort of coupon or reimbursement and was treated rudely by the owner/manager and the staff. Upon getting into my car - I did not tip the attendants. (I normally over-tip even after a mediocre experience) The attendant then started yelling at me. I had mistakenly thrown out my receipt. He tried to accuse me of not paying at all and even alluded to the fact that it was someone else's car! I have to drive by this place to get to my house, and I still get upset when I think about it.

Lazy, half-assed job!. First they tried to pressure me into spending $100 on a polish wax job. I went for the overpriced $20 deal instead. They left a ton of dirty spots on the hood and the doors and I had to ask them to clean. After taking my car here, I had to go buy cleaning supplies in order to finnish the job myself.
