A soothing, spiritual retreat in the middle of West Hollywood..
In Short
Co-owners Sue Elkind and Anthony Benenati opened City Yoga on the busy corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax in 1999. Despite the chaos outside, the second-story practice room faces a quiet back alley. Focusing on vinyasa-based study, classes range from introductory to advanced. Instructors vary, but most will gently affirm basic poses and some will even strum Indian instruments to deepen meditation.

Headstands, handstands, sports scores & more.
I 'heart' City Yoga. I have been devoted to City Yoga for almost 7 years now and try and go as often as possible. Whether it's Tara's 6:30, Camilla's 9am or Sunday mornings with Anthony (who makes sure to update everyone on the latest baseball and basketball scores) every class is great.
I am an incredibly clumsy girl, but for some reason when I am at City Yoga I can hang in a handstand forever and balance on one leg with my eyes closed for hours on end!
The energy and feeling that Rebecca, Anthony and their awesome teachers and staff make City Yoga one of my favorite places to be!
And thankfully the folks at City get the fact that while yoga is spiritual it can also be fun!
So for a great workout, super people and that ever important calming energy - CITY YOGA is a must.

Sanctuary in the City.
I came to City Yoga having never done a downward dog, and a little sceptical of yoga. The sheer joy, camaraderie and humor of the classes here have transfomed me inside and out. It's not pretentious at all, and they make sure to learn your name early on, and make you feel welcome and included. The best place I've found.
