gross pizza, not particulary friendly staff, disgusting sanitation, great tipper, cold appetizers, huge fly, clean environment
Watch your pie bake in a wood-fired oven at this national chain with global culinary influences..
In Short
Founded in Beverly Hills in 1985, these eateries with the trademark yellow, black and white color scheme have spread nationwide. The decor consists of simple wood and glass with roomy black leather booths. The thin-crust pizzas come with innovative toppings from Asia, Latin America and the Southwest; signature pizzas like the Original BBQ Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken compete with old standbys like pepperoni and traditional cheese. Pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches round out the menu.
Bad takeout!!!. Horrible, horrible, horrible take out service!!! Had a ten person client meeting for a noon lunch, asked for food to be ready at 11:30, did that happen? NO!!! Had to go up and ASK another server for help as the to-go girl was ignoring us and throwing attitude. Only give attitude if you deserve to and can back it up. I was super nice, patient and a great tipper!!! Walked out with cold pizzas & appetizers to hand to a very disappointed boss once I got back in the office. I ended up heating up the gross, sick, lifeless pizza in the microwave and unfortunately serving it to our clients. So much for a great impression. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Decent food, average everything else. This place has some pretty tasty pizzas, but don't expect particulary friendly or quick staff. I highly recommend not sitting outside if it is breezy because the sanitation is disgusting. Dirt and napkins are swept up so irregularly that no one cleaned up anything during the course of our meal. The next time we went there was a huge dead fly squashed agains the wall within inches of my arm. When you're paying a fairly high price for just a lunch-sized pizza, you should at least get a clean environment (and you can't say that flying debris and eye-level dead flies are not noticeable).
the fact that CPK is on this list.... makes this top pizza list a bit laughable. pizza is average on a great day and you definitely get that chain restaurant feel.
Cali Pizza. Hey, I'm from Canada and when I was in LA, my Uncle and I went to California Pizza. It was fantastic. Semi-Classy and still a fun environment. Would recommend to anyone for a quick lunch and left overs to bring back to the hotel suite.
