The Scene
Frank Sinatra, once a regular, would look right at home in this cozy boite, returned to its classy '50s-era origins. A restored tile floor wraps past burgundy booths and a dark wood bar, leading to the star garden perimeter. Beneath this outdoor patio's all-weather eaves, strings of glowing light bulbs stretch above vine-covered walls, a flickering brick hearth and three centerpiece olive trees--sweet scenery for romancing pairs and hip, young sets looking to lounge over a meal.

The Food
The floating scent of Parmesan is a rousing prelude to simply executed, Italian-American fare. Tenderly charred artichoke cups a melted-butter center for the signature, palate-cleansing start. Standard spaghetti with meatballs and filet mignon deliver hearty fare, while a mellow wine marinade coats the wood-grilled chicken breast, and the caper-topped whitefish piccata is creamy and well-cooked. Desserts du jour impress, especially the marble-plated trio of homemade gelatos like icy blood-orange and rich vanilla.

I've dined at Dominick's several times and always had a good experience. The food is excellent and the price point is very reasonable. The service is usually excellent too. If you like some fun interaction with your waiter, request Marshall. He extremely knowledgeable and quite charming if he has the time to chat at your table. The bartenders, though often very busy, are very friendly too. The staff does a great job of setting a positive tone to the point that even the customers seem to forget their worries and sit back and relax. Addressing some of the criticism I've read about the Sunday Supper -- it's a 3 course meal for $15 dollars. 15 DOLLARS! And the wine with the sediment at the bottom, which is $10 A BOTTLE on Sundays, is made in classic italian immigrant style -- it is supposed to have some sediment. My only complaint about Sundays is that it's usually too busy to walk-in a get a table. Also, street parking can be sparse so you usually have to valet (five dollars I think.)

i dined here with a group of friends and had a great time. the patio is lovely, so charming, we could have stayed all night. our waitress was an adorable red head, perfect vibe, non invasive but attentive, classy and witty. best service i've had in a while. my only gripe was for the small portions! the food was so delicious, just not enough of it.

I was there for lunch. We sat on the patio with a roofage made out of perspex. As it was very warm that day it felt a little bit like sitting in a greenhouse. However the cozy arranged patio and very friendly staff made up for it. My grilled artichoke came steaming hot and succulent. The salad contained sweet cherry tomatoes, marinaded paprika, hazelnuts and rocket salad. I especially loved the dessert. It was a creamy yogurt cake strewn with strawberries and blackberries. I will definitely come back to this Italian eatery.
