What People Are Saying About Madeo Restaurant

The Scene – The excellent Beverly Hills people-watching scene is straight out of "The Player." Hollywood heavy-hitters, who are coddled by the effusive owners, pack the place for both lunch and dinner. Attractive black-and-white photos of old Italy grace the walls. The vast booths are equally appropriate for romantic tete-a-tetes or top-secret business deals. – – The Food – With a menu that can be extravagantly overpriced, this Northern Italian hangout offers an interesting, though sometimes pretentious, selection that alternates from mouthwatering to downright…

Best Salmon dinner I have ever had! Melts in your mouth!
by RubyRose
I went there for dinner with some friends last January and ordered the Salmon, spinach, and mashed potatoes. Oh my gosh! I was in heaven! All I can say is I had to savor every bite because I didn't want it to end! Everyone ordered something different so we could have an orgy of tastes and textures! We ordered a few desserts and shared them all. What a wonderful experience. I felt like Queen Latifa in "Last Holiday!".
I don't know about anyone else, but we had great service. We were treated like royalty. We paid about $100 per person with wine and dessert. Very worth it. I'm going back on February 26 for my birthday! Can't wait!

Madeo is the hang out for the celebrities with excellent food yea yea its expensive alright but if you cant afford it than you should not dine there your paying for the atmosphere and luxury of sitting in an exclusive restaurant not to get the lunch special at 15 dollars a plate of pasta with a large coke.. lol... people common now... if you want cheap for the same tasty italian food then go around the corner to Angelino Cafe its just as good but the atmosphere is not like Madeo... Madeo is Celebrity Status! and the food is soooo good mmm all the pastas are fabulous the desert is really good as well i recomend the ricotta cheese cake and the fruit tart as well as the peach sorbet really good!!
- Pros: bolognese pasta no the eggplant parmesan lol
- Cons: the people who complain about it being expensive lol
old OLD school Italian
by BBELA
This place is old school.
A school I was never granted acceptance into. And who’s tuition I could not afford.
However, this didn’t prevent me from devouring the best damn Spaghetti alla Bolognese I’ve ever had. Wow, was I impressed.
Animal lovers, don’t hate me. The sauce contained veal. I didn’t know! (a lie, I knew but thought the rich flavor was worth the suffering of an innocent….Not true at all!….I’m so torn!!)
OK, enough with the schizophrenia!
Madeo is filled with high rollers, head honcho’s, the wheeler’s and dealers. And this afternoon, my friend and I (my friend, the bread expert) were allowed access.
Now, I walk away from this slightly pretentious, good ole boys lunch with some high pasta praise. My friend, N.R. however, can only complain about the horrendous bread. I didn’t notice, I thought it was fine. My friend almost became visibly belligerent. I was ready to ask the 12 waitstaff on guard near our table for a blowdart sedative!
For the layman, at Madeo you’ll encounter a place for the rich folk, with very pleasant and plentiful waiters at your disposal, a nearly $30 plate of pasta (which only you will scoff at, as everyone else around you will be expensing theirs) and a basket of bread which you will probably like regardless what my semi-psychotic pal says.

GREAT FOOD, LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE
by sirenascott
I went to this restaurant on July 13 for my birthday. Madeo was a great experience as far as the food, atmosphere and service was concerned. The reason I give them 3 stars is because there was an error on the bill and I was given the runaround which I don't appreciate from a 5-star restaurant. I did not notice the error until I got home but there was a $20 error in addition from the total amount and the tip. In my tipsiness I did not add correctly. When trying to get the error fixed it was like a hamster on a wheel. I called first thing Monday morning only to be told the bookkeeper was not in. I called back later in the day only to be told the bookkeeper had already left for the day. I called back Tuesday and was told the bookkeeper was eating lunch and to call back in 30 min. When I FINALLY got thru to the bookkeeper she did not ask me my name or attempt to look up the receipt. She told me to fax over the copy of the receipt with an explanation of what happened. I did so and called back Wednesday morning only to be told the fax had not been received. WTF?? This is supposee to be a 5-star restaurant! She told me to fax it over again but by this time I was so exasperated I decided to just go thru my bank. They credited me the $20 after hearing my story but Madeo still made extra money off me which I am not thrilled about. I would recommend this place if you want EXCELLENT Italian food and nice service but in this economy it seems like even the rich people can be thieves.
- Pros: excellent food, great service, cozy atmosphere
- Cons: error on bill took forever to resolve & bookkeeper was rude
How much should a noodle cost
by lpdinerman
How does a place survive charging so much for a meal.
I think they have priced themselves out of the survival market.
- Pros: Eat with the Mob
- Cons: Overpriced
